Artist development takes time. Publicly traded music labels face pressure to deliver quarterly results.
When a quarter disappoints, spending freezes, layoffs follow, and teams change- while artists are still expected to deliver.
The executives closest to the talent feel that pressure too. We need a model that rewards long-term artist success and gives the people building careers the resources and stability to do it.
The old model is due for change.
