Do you ever ask someone if everything is okay, feel better when they say yes, and then find yourself needing to ask again?
That's the tricky thing about reassurance seeking. It calms our anxiety temporarily, but can actually make it worse over time.
We're talking all about it on this week's podcast! 💛 youtu.be/Ri8n9qUUgJw?is=YAwh…
Feeling everything and saying nothing is its own kind of screaming. 6 signs of poor communication. Which one is you?
It feels like a cheap hit of dopamine, then the doubt comes right back. Why reassurance wears off in 5 minutes.
When someone's tone shifts or they text Okay that's it, your brain fires every alarm. Why you assume they're mad at you. Sound familiar?
That harsh voice in your head probably started as a way to keep you safe.
If you criticized yourself first, nobody else's criticism could hurt as much. It made sense back then.
You can thank it for trying and still ask it to soften.
What would you say to a friend who made the same mistake?

Self-harm does not mean that someone is suicidal.
•While it can lead to future suicide attempts, many people misunderstand what self-harm signifies.
•People often assume that knowing someone harms themselves means that person wants to take their own life, but that is not the case.
Self-harm was historically so misunderstood that it was categorized strictly under the diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (BPD) until recent revisions of the DSM (such as the 2013 release and the 2015 text revision).
Being easy to take advantage of usually started as keeping the peace. Here's why we get taken advantage of. Which one is you?
One of my favorite quotes: you don't have to light yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.
The older I get, the more I see time as my most finite resource. I can't have hobbies or relationships if I'm working myself to the bone.
What would you do with an hour of real rest?
Being called "too sensitive" as a kid can stick with you for a long time.
A lot of us learned to hide what we feel so we wouldn't be a bother. But noticing things deeply also makes you a caring friend and a good listener.
When did you first hear you were too sensitive?
Your hurt counts even if she said other kids had it worse. Signs of an emotionally unavailable mother.
It's okay to miss a version of yourself.
Maybe you laughed more back then. Maybe you worried less. Life asked you to change.
Missing that person doesn't mean you're going backward. It can show you what you want to bring back.
What do you miss most about an older you?
Codependency is when caring about someone turns into feeling responsible for their happiness, emotions, or choices. And while it might feel like love, it can leave us exhausted, resentful, and disconnected from our own needs 🫠 youtu.be/Y2RPgCvjPSI?is=goWG…
I didn't learn that rest doesn't have to wait until everything is done. Burnout taught me that.
Since then I've been working on finding my worth in more than what I get done. It's still hard. But I'm getting better.
Was it burnout for you too?
You can be surrounded by people and still feel lonely.
So often loneliness comes from not feeling known.
One honest conversation can help more than a crowded room.
Who do you feel most like yourself with?
What if grief that still shows up years later is love that hasn't found a place to go yet?
There's no right timeline for missing someone. A song or a smell can bring it all back, and that's okay.
Who are you missing lately?
