Jaylen Brown says fasting “saved my life” and strengthened his mental health “Giving your body a chance. You spend so much time focusing on digesting and breaking down stuff. When there's nothing in your system, your body can use that energy to go through so many different things, like to heal yourself, to make yourself have a little bit more clarity, or just your body starts to function in different ways when you have the energy to do so” “How it's helped me in my craft is that it also pushes and challenges you. When you challenge your body by fasting and challenge your spirit, you also challenge your mental as well. It's your ability to persevere, your ability now to remain calm in adverse situations. I think fasting has helped me in that” “It's increased my mental health, and I've said it before, in a lot of ways it's really saved my life. We go through trauma. We all have issues and things that we deal with on this planet that have an effect on us because we're humans. The state of your mind, the state of your well-being, can determine how you go forward from those moments” “Being able to have strong mental health, being able to endure life's challenges, is a great skill set.
