HAVING A LAUGH Here is Carlos Sainz with his marigold behind his ear as he arrived with his teammate, Alex Albon, having spent an inordinate amount of time in traffic, even with a police escort! #f1 #formula1 #mexicogp

CHECO 300 When Formula1 added the Bahrain GP in Malaysia to the schedule, Sergio Perez’s 300th race moved from Austin to Mexico City, his home race. It is a dream result for him and Cadillac. #f1 #formula1 #mexicogp

HALF N HALF Franco Colapinto arrived at the track today wearing two football jerseys spliced together. Half of his kit is his beloved Argentina national team's shirt, while the other half is that of the Mexican national team. No doubt, this will please fans from both countries. #f1 #formula1 #mexicogp

THE HANDOFF Oliver Bearman chose to present his cempasúchil to his girlfriend Alicia as he arrived for work. The paddock has had some upgrades since we were here last, and I’ll go into more detail on that in my YouTube video, which will be up tomorrow morning, Mexican time. #F1 #Formula1 #MexicoGP

TAKE AND GIVE Nico Hulkenberg accepted a marigold from one of Las Catrinas as he entered the paddock, admired it for a few seconds, and then handed it to Mario Achi as he walked past. #f1 #formula1 #mexicangp

A FLOWER FOR YOU As Charles Leclerc arrived this morning, one of four Las Catrinas presented the Monégasque driver with a cempasúchil, which he inspected and continued on his way. The bright orange marigold symbolizes Día de Muertos, which Mexico celebrates this weekend. #f1 #formula1 #mexicangp

MISTAKEN IDENTITY The flower giver positioned in front of the swipe gates mistook Arvid Lindblad’s trainer for a driver, presenting Sam Village with the cempasúchil. Arvid ended up walking behind the gifter, minus a marigold. #f1 #formula1 #mexicangp

LIAM X LEICA The New Zealand Driver arrived in all black today, carrying his new black Leica camera gifted to him last week in Austin. At some point, though, his trainer relieved him of it, and he made his way towards a large group of media assembled in front of the swipe gates. He won’t be in the car for FP1 tomorrow, as Nikola Tsolov will be behind the wheel for 60 minutes. #f1 #formula1 #mexicangp

I DIDN'T RECOGNISE HIM This is Nikola Tsolov, who has undergone a makeover for his first run in an FP1 session, driving Liam Lawson's VCARB tomorrow. He's certainly looking the goods. #f1 #formula1 #mexicangp

Can you tell what's wrong with these US$100 notes? Well, it turns out they're film props and NOT $100 bills, which I unfortunately realised today. So, here's a warning: always check the money you are given whenever you exchange or receive it. #travel #kymillmantravel #scammed

ONE TO REMEMBER The 2026 United States Grand Prix is one Liam Lawson is sure to remember. The VCARB driver finished in the points today, joking over team radio afterwards that perhaps he should perform on stage every weekend if it helps him stay so calm throughout the race weekend. That calm was nowhere to be seen on Thursday morning, when nerves were building ahead of his first live performance. But he needn’t have worried, as his acoustic set went down a treat with the crowd, including Arvid Lindblad and Isack Hadjar, alongside plenty of fans. A memorable weekend on and off the track for the Kiwi. #usgp #f1news #f1

SOMETHING TO FIGHT FOR In the latter stages of the race, P3 looked like a realistic target for Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari. However, the Virtual Safety Car put paid to any chance of the Brit challenging for the final podium spot. Even so, Lewis has plenty of positives to take away from Austin. Sitting on 241 championship points, he remains in contention for second in the Drivers’ Championship and has already surpassed his points total from each of the previous four seasons, with five races still to go. #f1 #formula1 #usgp

A SOLID DAY’S WORK Lando Norris made his tyres last today, with a P5 finish for the reigning World Champion. With Kimi Antonelli on the verge of taking the crown next weekend, he looks increasingly likely to pass the baton to the young Italian in Mexico. After the race, Lando highlighted the need for significant upgrades if McLaren are to return to the front. Team principal Andrea Stella, meanwhile, hopes improvements can arrive for the final three rounds of the season, helping the team build momentum heading into 2027. #f1 #f1news #usgp

OVER AND OUT For the first time since 2020, Max Verstappen is out of contention for the World Drivers’ Championship before the season reaches its climax. After winning four consecutive titles, he took the fight to Lando Norris all the way to the final round last year. But despite missing out on the championship battle this time around, Max has impressed in recent weeks, securing back-to-back victories before adding another podium in Austin today. He may be out of the title race, but he’s certainly not done fighting as the season reaches the end. #f1 #formula1 #usgp

BACK IN THE FIGHT Charles Leclerc had the pace in Austin, taking an impressive P2 finish after starting fourth on the grid. The Monegasque has bounced back well from a difficult spell during the European leg of the season. With another strong result under his belt, second place in the Drivers’ Championship remains within reach as the season continues. #f1 #f1content #usgp

A MOMENT TO REMEMBER Kimi Antonelli, his father Marco and the Mercedes team gathered outside the garage for the obligatory victory photograph after the young Italian’s win in Austin. Swarms of media personnel were on hand to capture the moment that brought him to the brink of sealing the World Drivers’ Championship. The non-alcoholic champagne was put to good use, with Kimi and the team alike getting a thorough soaking as they celebrated. #f1 #formula1 #usgp

LONE STAR Kimi Antonelli executed a convincing one-stop strategy to hold off his rivals and take victory in Austin. The win leaves him on the brink of the World Drivers’ Championship, with a finish of P9 or higher in Mexico next weekend enough to secure the title. The celebrations were well deserved, as Antonelli soaked in the moment on the podium with a non-alcoholic alternative to the usual champagne shower. One more step could see the young Italian crowned World Champion. #f1 #f1news #usgp
