We’ve been working on enabling semantic search for all of GitHub Issues for a long time and put a lot of effort into making it work well. So much good stuff happening!
We just shipped semantic search for @GitHub Issues along with some solid performance improvements. We went from only 2% of requests returning in under 200ms to ~35%. Still a lot of work to do, but we’re working hard everyday on making core GitHub faster. Video below is of before and after comparison

I am looking for a climbing enthusiastic iOS dev to maintain + improve @redpoint_app! Since one sec is going so well it became my main job and I dont have the time to focus on Redpoint. DM me apps you have worked on + your climbing grade ;) (paid ofc, by hour or project)

We (and Mona the Octocat) turned 15 this week. Mona originally started life as a stock image bought for our 404 page. Back then we never imagined she’d grow into the international developer superstar she is today. Take a look back at 15 years of Mona with us.

Working at GitHub’s OSPO is so interesting because of our very unique position in the ecosystem. Great to kick off this project to hopefully help more companies be successful doing open source! 🎉

Oftentimes, what we do at the @SeaHawkersGER revolves around American Football but sometimes, there are stories that are about just a little bit more important than that. One of our longest running projects and an incredible story, beautifully told by @MikeDugar 🙏🏼
Greeting from Munich. This is a story about the late Tobias Baumann, a German Seahawks fan who despite being confined to his bed & suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, stayed connected to his favorite team thru a traveling stuffed owl named Frieda theathletic.com/3812062/2022…

Had the chance to speak with Mike in Munich last weekend. Glad to see the fans here get the attention they deserve!
The #Seahawks fandom in Germany is real. Very real. It's technically a Bucs home game today in Munich, but the @SeaHawkersGER club will have something to say about that by kickoff. "We want to bring the Seahawks a home game.” theathletic.com/3837239/2022…

The best feature of AirTags? Being able to watch my luggage sit at Denver Airport and not move for 3 days – thanks @lufthansa 😑

Today, a mere 26 days after I landed in Munich, I got my suitcase! What an ordeal, cannot recommend.
