NEW @NEXTUPHALPERIN EPISODE:
My reported monologue digs into the suddenly exploding battle to succeed Donald Trump, as @JDVance @RonDeSantis , and @tedcruz jockey for influence over the MAGA movement, with Marco Rubio watching closely.
I also revisit Charlie Kirk’s warnings about young voters, Latinos, and Iran — and what Republicans failed to hear before election night.
@GlennBeck joins me to assess where the GOP went wrong and why it lost touch with some core MAGA priorities.

I was literally the person Secretary Kennedy called to kill a pesticide liability waiver that was going to be slipped into federal law. Which I helped some members of Congress, led by @realannapaulina do.

As usual for serious people, nuance applies this response was to her essentially asking me if the allegations that the President and his family are corrupt and whether it was breaking through to voters. The author of this story can verify that.
And the answer to that question is that it wasn’t and is not because they are not corrupt and such an insinuation is untrue.
On the topic of corruption generally, yes, it’s a big issue. That’s why we ran many many ads on members of congress trading stocks, democrats being bankrolled by big healthcare companies and then screwing Americans on healthcare , and so on. Specifically aimed at the issue of corruption. The democrats ran their own versions of that too.
I personally whipped to get votes for banning members of congress from trading stocks too…and it passed the House, with the opposition of most Democrats!

Again not true.
Called Calley last night. He didn’t answer or return my call.
He messaged me this morning.
After a few messages and telling him I’d consider suing him if he defamed me, I told him was done responding to him privately.
And haven’t since.
Calley, your poor me act is tiring and embarrassing for a grown man who launched a smear campaign.
I’ve been countering your factual inaccuracy all day.
You thought I was gonna lay down and take it?
I do this for a living.
I’ve been called worse things by better people than you.
And I haven’t even gotten started.
This is a formal request for Susie Wiles and James Blair to stop harassing me with texts and calls.
If there is a factual inaccuracy in what I said, send it to me in writing and I will vigorously correct and apologize for any misstatements. I will note that everything I said is substantiated by other senior officials.
If you want to file a lawsuit and get into discovery of whether it’s provably true that Ballard and Continental had an undue influence on the White House policy process, do it.
I believe we are in an existential moment for the country, and Americans were owed an honest accounting of the past two years so we identify the problems we need to move on from.

Governor DeSantis: "If we had a primary or caucus tomorrow with Republican voters, they would vote to renominate Trump again if he was eligible. I don't think it would even be close." 😎

“So you’ll hear a lot of people in the press say this is a horrible decision because Stephen Miller is a horrible guy,” says @MarkHalperin. “You’ll hear a lot of that. I’m not saying that. What I’m telling you is Stephen Miller is a horrible choice if the goal is to have any relationship with the Democrats in Congress… I do not know why the president chose him, and I do not know how this will end, but I can tell you there are going to be horrible relationships between the Office of the Chief of Staff and Democrats on Capitol Hill.”

So much of this is just false Calley. So much of it.
I certainly didn’t have a stranglehold on policy. Very little of it really.
The “single biggest issue I worked on at HHS” was fruit flavored vapes?
Yah, working in vapes was probably one of things I worked on within HHS the most, aside from the Great Healthcare Plan..,because I barely worked on HHS policy…which refutes your made up claim that all policy went through me…but nevertheless.
What I worked on was pushing FDA to get the nicotine application process functioning within the bounds of existing law, which is to dispense with applications within 6 months instead of letting them sit years, as has been the case. That’s making government do its actual job…and I can’t help that they couldn’t get that done. Of course they could, but the HHS deep state has for years tried to do what they want instead of what the President directs…but that’s a whole other conversation. At least it’s improving now.
Also, I never argued vapes were a core midterm issue. Yes, I absolutely did point out they are popular amongst a certain cohort of voters in our coalition and that freedom to use them is a popular issue. That’s just reciting what those voters say. Obviously your issue is with that group of voters. My job is report what the voters say and think. Policy makers get to decide policy.
But you can’t find a single candidate I have ever told to talk about vape policy, because the idea I argued for it as a core midterm issue is a complete and total lie.
Calley Means reveals fruit-flavored vapes became the White House's top health priority
"He would argue that approving vapes was a core midterm issue...This is the top issue among these people for all of health."
MEANS: "There's significant money flowing around to some of the folks that I mentioned from the vaping industry. It's a massive industry. And it's also the big tobacco guys are really getting into this and funneling a lot of money to Ballard. So, it was well known at the White House. I don't know if I think it's Ballard, but one of the top firms, but it was well known. This is a tagged issue that this was a big one. These guys are donating to the various causes. They're hiring the right people."
"You know, it was, in my opinion, the single most prioritized issue at HHS among any health issue for James Blair, who really has a stranglehold on policy. Policy has to go through him. So I'm talking like Medicare, health access, food, anything at HHS. This was the top issue for the White House. And the issue was to get a better pathway for fruit-flavored vapes."
ROGAN: "Oh my god."
MEANS: "And there's a law from Congress that says before any FDA approval, you need to have a study saying that this isn't harmful to kids. And Marty Makary, who was fired, was pounding on this, meeting after meeting. He wasn't getting called up to talk about our dietary guidelines reform or healthy food or anything that Bobby Kennedy talked about. And James and other people, they said this is where these guys, being immersed in this world and being the gatekeeper on policy, but also the midterm strategy... He would argue that approving vapes was a core midterm issue, that young men, that your listeners, I guess, really want their fruit-flavored vapes. And this was an emphatic argument."
"So this is the problem, right? When you have these people in charge of the polling, in charge of the policy, and they're using the midterms as a reason to jam vaping. And I'm thinking, well, geez, I helped..."
ROGAN: "I have never heard that once."
MEANS: "The number one issue is..."
"That's the... I'm not... This is the top issue among these people for all of health."

“I think that it was time for her to go,” says @MarkHalperin about Susie Wiles, “for the good of the president and the good of the country and the good of Susie Wiles. All things considered, she knows about politics. She did not defer to other people on the midterms. She ran that thing the way chief of staff does. And it’s really one of the biggest disasters in modern American political history. She presided over it.”

There are rare moments when I’m at a loss for words, but the outpouring of support for @StephenM truly awes me.
Stephen has stood by President Trump for 11 years through wins, investigations, rallies, foreign trips, state visits, and more. I’ve seen him work relentlessly around the clock to fulfill President Trump’s promises to American people.
When we left office in 2021, Stephen always knew Trump would return and told the White House staff so on our last day in 45. No one (except @DanScavino) has worked harder or believes in this President more than Stephen.
President Trump loves this story: Stephen and I met because of him when I worked on immigration at DHS. Without him, our four beautiful children wouldn’t exist. Anyone who has called Stephen in the morning or around dinner knows he is an incredibly active dad who pours his whole heart into them daily.
Watching your best friend and spouse achieve their dreams is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
To the reporters prognosticating about the future and what his appointment means: Stephen loves our country and wants to make it better for our kids and yours. He means business and is ready to work.
The best is yet to come.
Thank you, President Trump.
