THE MONEY PROMPT:
Do a full analysis of the revenue generating aspects of our code base. Your mission is to identify opportunities to improve revenue. You have my full permission to perform read-only database queries to accomplish this task. You may also read the entire code base, as well as past git commits. Focus on the largest revenue drivers that will drive the biggest impact. Also focus on straightforward changes and adjustments, rather than major strategy changes. The aim is to identify the top 20 opportunities for human review. For each opportunity, give it a revenue impact score (1-5) and a likelihood of success score (1-5). Each opportunity should have a description, how big of an opportunity it is revenue wise, and how to implement the idea in the code. While you may report important bugs that you find, we are not looking to fix minor bugs that do not impact revenue. We are not performing a compliance audit or making legal interpretations over existing practices. Do not rely on the work of past agents or existing documentation. Do your own research and analysis. Put the final report in a claude artifact that can be shared.
Amazon reviews are totally fake now, right?
The IPhone duo has been out since Friday.
No way a phone case for it has 85,000 reviews.
Want private CPA offers when your list is still small? Start as a sub-affiliate.
In finance I point people to Investing Media Solutions or Strikepoint. You won't get the same CPA as a direct deal, but you earn your way into Agora and MarketWatch by showing real volume first.
If you’re having the same problem with 3, 4 or 5 different clients, the common denominator is probably you.
If things work well with everyone else and you only have the problem with one client, it’s probably them.
Patterns are usually more useful than assigning blame.

A client threatened to fire us last month after we generated $86,000 from email.
His complaint?
Our open rate was only 41%.
"Chris, that means 59% of our customers IGNORED us."
I explained that $86,000 was considerably more useful than an open.
"I DON'T CARE ABOUT REVENUE. I WANT 90% OPENS BY FRIDAY OR YOU'RE FIRED."
Fair enough.
I called our creative strategist.
New objective: opens.
No restrictions.
Monday's subject line:
YOUR WIFE HIRED A DIVORCE ATTORNEY
Body: "Anyway, our new creatine formula just dropped."
92% open rate.
Tuesday:
YOUR NAME IS IN THE EPSTEIN FILES
Body: "And your name is also on our VIP list. Here's 15% off."
97.4%.
Wednesday:
IRS AUDIT NOTICE: YOU HAVE 48 HOURS TO RESPOND.
Body: "Time to audit your supplement cabinet. Protein powder is 20% off."
99.1%.
Thursday:
WE HAVE YOUR CHILDREN. DO NOT CONTACT THE POLICE.
Body: "Covered. With our new family-size hydration bundles."
99.8%.
A woman in Ohio drove 43 minutes to her son's elementary school.
Two customers contacted the FBI.
One subscriber replied asking how much ransom we wanted.
Our strategist offered him free shipping.
Friday:
YOUR WIFE KNOWS ABOUT THE HOTEL IN AUSTIN LAST FALL
99.9%.
The founder called me eight seconds later.
"WHO TOLD YOU ABOUT AUSTIN?"
"Nobody."
"THEN WHY AUSTIN?"
"It outperformed Dallas in our subject line test."
He went completely silent.
Then started screaming.
"YOUR TEAM IS TERRORIZING MY CUSTOMERS."
I explained that terror was currently our highest-performing creative angle.
"YOU CAN'T JUST MAKE THINGS UP TO GET PEOPLE TO OPEN EMAILS."
Interesting.
He issued a new rule.
Every subject line had to be 100% factually accurate.
No exceptions.
But he still wanted 90% opens.
Our strategist said he understood.
Monday morning, he sent:
YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN CANCELED
99.6% open rate.
The founder called.
"WHY ARE CUSTOMERS SAYING THEIR ORDERS WERE CANCELED?"
"Because we canceled them."
"WHAT?"
"4,812 orders. Every single one."
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?"
"You said the subject lines had to be true."
Tuesday:
WE'VE TERMINATED YOUR SUBSCRIPTION
We terminated 11,400 subscriptions.
99.9% open rate.
Wednesday:
URGENT PRODUCT RECALL
We recalled 7,000 tubs of perfectly good electrolyte powder.
100%.
The founder was hysterical.
"THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PRODUCT."
"I know."
"THEN WHY DID YOU RECALL IT?"
"So we could tell people."
His CFO was vomiting into a trash can.
Customer support had stopped answering the phone.
But the numbers were beautiful.
100% opens.
Zero misleading subject lines.
Full compliance with every directive.
Thursday, the founder called me crying.
"CHRIS. PLEASE. I'M BEGGING YOU. GO BACK TO LYING."
I told him we'd need that in writing.
He sent it immediately.
Then asked us to stop sending emails altogether.
"How much will it cost to make this nightmare end?"
I quoted him $40,000 a month.
He signed a 12-month agreement.
We're now getting paid $480,000 a year to not email his customers.
Every month we send exactly one email.
To him.
Subject line:
THE KIDNAPPING CAMPAIGN RESUMES TOMORROW
It's already scheduled.
He pays the invoice within six seconds.
ATTENTION FINPUB: Time to fire up the Anthropic IPO promos.
finance.yahoo.com/technology…
When you start a new Beehiiv list, set up segments before you email everyone.
Daily: opened in the last 30 days, clicked in the last 60, or joined in the last 15 to 30 days.
Weekly: roughly a 90-day opener or clicker window.
Don't blast people who haven't opened in a year.
Nobody tells you how anticlimactic the big revenue milestones are.
I wanted a $1 million business for years. When we got there it was just another Wednesday. Same at $5 million. No trophy, no balloons.
The main change was that the answer to "can I afford this?" became yes.
A guy once translated my book, Email Marketing Demystified, into Italian and sold it on Amazon under my name. He'd emailed offering translation help first. I figured it was spam.
When I called him out, he offered to split the royalties 50/50. Still waiting on my first check.

Blizzard calling Forever a "complementary experience" to retail is the cope of the year. Nobody is finishing the current expansion first. We're logging in Nov 4 and never looking back. Retail is on life support.

Will Reichard now holds the Vikings franchise record with 36 straight made field goals. Next up: NFL record of 44.
Every couple of years someone tells me email is dead.
First it was Facebook pages, then Messenger bots, then browser push, now AI agents. We made money on some of those, and push faded after a few great years. Our email list has kept working underneath all of it.
