AI is a tool to strengthen apprenticeship training and prepare the next generation of skilled craft professionals. By integrating emerging technology into training, we can equip our workforce with the skills needed to meet the demands of a changing industry while keeping hands-on learning at the center. dailyreporter.com/2026/10/23…

We brought seven graduates from America's Workforce Academy together for the @NABTU Conference, the largest gathering of women in the skilled trades in North America. AWA grad, Amber took us along for the ride. From the banner parade to expo booth tattoos, Amber connected with tradeswomen who've spent decades in the field.

Twenty years of trade work and I'd tell any kid the same thing: an apprenticeship beats a student loan. You earn while you learn, and nobody's automating a panel change.

Chris Baker from Local 830, District Council 14, became a shop steward because he couldn’t stand seeing his coworkers being taken advantage of. He said, “If you don’t like it, fix it!” Every member of our union is obligated to look after themselves and their fellow members, enforce the contract, and become active in their union.

When working people stand together, we build more than projects. We build stronger communities, better opportunities, and a brighter future for the next generation. That’s the power of the building trades.

Proud that @Meta sponsored and participated in this year’s Tradeswomen Build Nations conference as we deepen our partnership with @NABTU to expand opportunities in America’s skilled trades. It was especially meaningful to see graduates of our @AmerWorkAcademy spend time with @NABTU President Sean McGarvey. His leadership is helping create more opportunities for women in the skilled trades to build the infrastructure that will power America's future.

Many may not know this, but our union is proud to represent metal finishers. Metal polishing is an extremely skilled trade, with our members essentially acting as scientists, mixing and matching colors. Check out the essential work of Chicago’s metal finishers, who work all night to keep the city’s historic buildings looking shiny and beautiful!
