Proud is an understatement. Next Level Prospects #Commitment ‘28 RHP Luke Caron @LukeCaron_3 @PennBaseball and @johnyurkow1 - congrats on landing a terrific young man, from a great family! The floor is high, ceiling even higher! HS: @UDCardinalPride Travel: @Boilermakers220 ___________________________________ A little recruiting insight for parents and student-athletes following along... The part of Luke's story I think younger players and families need to hear. Despite the attention from a dozen schools this spring/summer, Luke still needed to get better. That's not always an easy conversation for a player or his family to hear, especially when college coaches are already showing interest. Following @PrepBaseballPA Futures, my advice to Luke and his family was pretty straightforward: Disappear for a few weeks. Get stronger. Move better. Develop. Show up in the fall as a different pitcher. Not more showcases. Not more emails to college coaches. Not chasing every opportunity. GET BETTER. And to Luke's credit, he bought in. The Progression: ✅Late August: 90mph, moving so much better downhill ✅Mid-September: New PR of 91mph, with improved SL ✅October: Stable velo with 📈Strike % and weak contact outs Ultimately, his decision came narrowed down to two incredible opportunities. Two programs that genuinely wanted him, and two places where he could see himself thriving. That's what recruiting should look like. Developing as a player, building genuine relationships, understanding your options, and making an informed decision. And now he's headed to PENN. ⚾️ Couldn't be happier for Luke and his family!

Parents: If you are having private conversations with people saying “what am I supposed to do/say, he only wants to play at a D1 school. I’ll exhaust all resources until we know for sure he can’t.” As a parent, I get it…but You’re doing a disservice to your son D1 or Bust mentality 🤦‍♂️ Seek constructive guidance, honest guidance. D2/D3/Juco/NAIA - offers PLAYING time and development opportunities Your son will be happy playing the game he loves…

🔥Recruiting Facts🔥 ⭐️Cannot overstate how important CONNECTIONS are in the recruiting process. Like ACTUAL connections ⭐️Also, cannot overstate how important a real, honest evaluation of your talent truly is. Metrics don’t tell the story College coaches want dogs Be a dog

Novel idea… Spend less pitch equity for outs, win more games. Teams that THROW LESS PITCHES to acquire outs and strikeouts & have ⬆️ defensive efficiency win more games. Leveraging communication is a tool to win in the margins take W’s!!! @d1baseball
