The Prime Minister presented a special recognition award at the Pride of Britain Awards to honour the founders of Andy’s Man Club, Elaine and Luke. In 2016, Andy Roberts, Elaine’s son and Luke’s brother-in-law, tragically took his own life at just 23 years old. The pair went on to create Andy's Man Club, a male suicide prevention charity that has grown from a single group in Halifax to more than 360 groups nationwide. Through its mission to break the stigma around men’s mental health, Andy’s Man Club has saved thousands of lives and inspired men to speak up when they need help 🤝

Wow!
Nixon Putt’s family and friends hiked 7 days on foot from the Highlands just to see him play for PNG. It’s too expensive to fly, driving not possible. Ran out of food, went without sleep to get there in time. Incredible effort #rugbyleague #nrl Coming up in sport on @7NewsSydney.

Farcical
Michael Cheika @LebanonRL Head Coach divulges that either the RLPA and/or @IntlRugbyLeague prevented the Cedars from playing a ‘warm up’ game prior to the World Cup, with Lebanon last playing a Test Match at the 2022 World Cup. This is an area that needs urgent attention #RLWC26

I’m convinced @SuperLeague keep missing an open goal here. Just tell an expansion team there’s a franchise fee. For @YorkRLFC & @TOXIII it was £650k. It’s now £1.3m. Simple.
Replying to @AaronBower
For the record, London anticipated getting ~£150,000 distribution if they were in Championship in 2027. So it's choice between £150k in Champ or 0 in SL with increased commercial, bigger crowds, profile. Broncos owners believe they have big commercial deals ready to go if in SL.

The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

Please can we say why RLWC21 lost money - just once? Saying it lost money makes it sound like a failure - it wasn’t. I’ll be amazed if this gets more viewers. It lost money because? Go on?

Rugby League has always been a niche sport in the UK. Where it is strong it's very, very strong. Elsewhere it barely exists. That's been the case for generations. James Graham somehow seems to have forgotten that whilst being surrounded by the sport in Sydney.

A misleading overdramatic headline above an excellent piece by outstanding broadcaster @RorySmith He’s right: everything else is not getting a look in. My horseracing mate says the same. It’s the BBC’s job to resist the temptation to just go for big numbers - but they are not 🤦🏽
Slow death of rugby league is down to data, algorithms and football’s hegemonic ‘Big Six’ It’s one of Britain’s best-attended sports but you’d struggle to find the World Cup on TV. What hope do the rest have? ✍️ @RorySmith bit.ly/4yykinu

Rugby League has TWICE the attendance of women’s football, 2m v 900k, but you’d never know it by the media coverage. London media’s attitude to RL is a bit like it’s attitude to Scottish football ‘it happens up north, we’ll give it a little mention, but we don’t really care’.

Much of the English Rugby League media and general narrative seems to be insistent on blaming the tournament format for the England teams’ travails. A format that is and was exactly the same for Tonga. The real history is written by the conquerer, not the conquered.
