Healthy soils begin with how we cultivate them. Conservation agriculture offers a practical path to protect land, reduce erosion, and strengthen soil fertility over time. By limiting soil disturbance, maintaining organic cover, and diversifying crops, farming systems can become more resilient, more productive, and better equipped to face climate pressures. At @OCPGroup, supporting sustainable agriculture means promoting practices that restore soil health while helping farmers build long-term value from their land.

Where women lead, food systems transform. As a contribution to the International Year of the WomanFarmer (IYWF 2026), spearheaded by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), @OCPGroup, in collaboration with University Mohammed VI Polytechnic through its @al_moutmir initiative, brought together women farmers, scientists, entrepreneurs, experts, public institutions, international organizations and financing actors around the transformation of agricultural and #foodsystems. Over three days, the gathering combined dialogue, innovation, solution-oriented masterclasses and fieldimmersion, exploring women’s role as economic actors, the contribution of science, data and innovation, soil health, climate resilience and the conditions needed to take solutions to scale. With more than 500 million women working across food, land and water systems worldwide, the conversations focused on moving beyond access to creating the conditions for adoption, value creation and sustainable impact.

"We talk a lot about de-risking the investor. We should also ask who is de-risking the farmer's decision to change." Jamila Adani, Head of Farming Development at @al_moutmir, at 2Unlock: Finance in Agriculture & Natural Capital during #ClimateWeekNYC. "Food security is not created when capital is deployed only. It is created when that capital translates into adoption, productivity, resilience and value on the farm." OCP Group also took part in discussions on biosolutions this week, with Amarjit Basra, Chief Scientist at OCP North America.

“We do not have a shortage of solutions. We have a challenge of alignment.” That was the message Meriem El Asraoui, Chief Global Affairs Officer at OCP Group, brought to the @iccwbo High-Level Roundtable during #ClimateWeekNYC. She added: “When policy, finance, science, business, and implementation work together, resilience becomes more than risk management. It becomes a source of competitiveness and growth.”

At the First Annual Members’ Meeting of the @CTFlagship during #ClimateWeekNYC, Meriem El Asraoui, Chief Global Affairs Officer at OCP Group, noted: “At OCP, we believe Africa should increasingly be seen not only as a region facing food security challenges, but also as a source of solutions. Across the continent, advances in soil mapping, satellite imagery, AI, data analytics, and precision agriculture are helping connect science to decisions on the ground. The real test is adoption at scale. It calls for research, skills, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and strong partnerships working together. Initiatives such as the Global Flagship Initiative for Food Security bring these capabilities together around a shared objective and deliver measurable impact.”

A new step in @OCPGroup's energy transition. OCP Green Energy has powered up Morocco’s first large-scale LFP battery storage system in Benguerir. Performance testing will take place over the coming weeks ahead of full operation. Once fully operational, the system will store solar electricity generated during the day and release it when industrial demand is highest, helping strengthen the continuity and reliability of renewable electricity supply. As a result, the BESS will reduce the OCP industrial site's electricity bill by 25% during peak hours. The project forms part of @OCPGroup's roadmap towards meeting all of its electricity needs from clean energy sources. Discover more about the project 👉 bit.ly/4cMcTZM

Phosphate rock is one of the essential resources underpinning global agriculture. With 240 million tons produced annually worldwide, 74 billion tons of known economically exploitable reserves, and some 300 billion tons of global resources, phosphate plays a strategic role in supporting soil health, plant nutrition, and food security. Understanding phosphate is understanding one of the foundations of sustainable agriculture.

Advancing food security and decarbonization together is one of the defining challenges of our time. As global food demand continues to rise, resilient fertilizer supply chains remain essential to supporting soil fertility and agricultural productivity at scale.   At @OCPGroup, this transformation is already in motion: scaling fertilizer production capacity at the same time as targeting carbon neutrality by 2040.   The path forward is built on innovation: renewable energy, green hydrogen, water stewardship, resource optimization, and broader access to technology.   For #Africa, this is more than an industrial shift. It is an opportunity to strengthen food security, accelerate sustainable growth, and build lasting resilience.

Closing the yield gap starts with understanding the soil. At OCP Group, agriculture goes beyond one-size-fits-all solutions, as we continue to expand our range of customized plant nutrition solutions, tailored to specific soils, crops, and climates. Using soil fertility mapping, drone sensors, satellite imagery, mobile laboratories, and AI-powered platforms, we are helping farmers make more informed decisions, improve soil health, and advance climate-positive, high-yield agriculture. With over 50 million hectares of soil already mapped in Africa, science is being brought closer to the field, transforming data into practical solutions for more resilient food systems.

The future of food security depends on unlocking the potential of every hectare. Today, most crops perform well below their agronomic potential. That difference, known as the “yield gap”, represents one of agriculture’s greatest opportunities. @OCPGroup works to close that gap through soil health solutions, agronomic expertise, innovation and farmer-centric approaches that raise yields while supporting long-term sustainability.

Every harvest begins with a force we rarely see. Beneath the surface, phosphorus is already at work, helping roots develop, stems grow stronger, flowers form, and crops reach maturity. Its impact extends through every stage of plant growth: stronger structure, better seed and fruit production, and greater resistance to disease. At @OCPGroup, bringing Phosphorus to life means advancing plant nutrition as a foundation for healthier crops, stronger agricultural systems, and more resilient food security. 🌍 🌿
