A HIDTA & HSTF operation targeting firearms and narcotics trafficking in the Portland metropolitan area resulted in the seizure of 97 illegal firearms, significant quantities of illicit drugs and 17 arrests, federal prosecutors announced.
Authorities seized 97 firearms and confiscated illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl.

October 28, 2026 | HSI San Juan, alongside Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) partners, supported the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) during Operation Los Tíos, targeting an alleged criminal organization involved in drug trafficking and firearms offenses in western Puerto Rico.
This federal prosecution is part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative, established under Executive Order 14159 to combat criminal cartels, foreign gangs, transnational criminal organizations, and human smuggling and trafficking networks.
HSTF San Juan brings together federal, state, and local partners working collaboratively to dismantle criminal organizations, protect our communities, and strengthen border security.

Over the weekend, HSI McAllen and Task Force Officers seized 267 pounds of cocaine, a loaded firearm, three vehicles, and U.S. currency during an enforcement action at two residential locations. Two individuals were criminally arrested.

What began as a routine search quickly turned into a major loss for narco-terrorist networks. 👀🌊
In the Eastern Pacific near Costa Rica, the Costa Rica Coast Guard, @seguridadcrc tracked a suspicious go-fast vessel and later located floating packages in the water. A U.S. Government Maritime Patrol Aircraft, @jiatfs supported the search, helping locate additional bales.
Although the vessel was lost, the operation still resulted in:
• 📦 70 bundles recovered
• ⚖️ 1,667 kg of cocaine seized
• 🌊 Complete recovery of jettisoned contraband
Strong partnerships continue to disrupt illicit trafficking and improve regional security. 🤝🛡️
