Early tendering gives contractors something every construction business needs: certainty.   Earlier awards allow companies to plan crews, equipment, materials and subcontractors before the construction season begins.   Better planning means more productive projects and fewer avoidable delays.

Update on The Recovery of GPS Surveying Equipment and arrests   On September 24th Kevin attended the Brant OPP Station along with members of Condrain Construction and viewed over one million dollars in recovered stolen property from members of the OSWCA along with other construction companies in Ontario. A lot of praise was given to the street crime unit members for their keen interest in executing a search warrant and arresting a Major Thief who was wanted by several other police departments across Ontario. They have identified a majority of the property and will be calling owners in the coming days. Lets hope these kind of thefts have come to a halt for now.   If anyone else has information on thefts of this equipment don’t hesitate to call us.   On September 11th, 2026 Brant OPP did a search warrant at a residence in Brantford and recovered a lot of stolen property and arrested two individuals who are still in custody.   Kevin is meeting with Street Crime Detectives next week to share information and attempt to confirm recovery of units from our members.   If you haven’t reported a theft of GPS Surveying Equipment but you want to share it now with equipment details please do so.   Theft of GPS Surveying Equipment Alert   On or about Tuesday February 24th /25th suspects entered a construction site at 5781 Mayfield Road in Caledon. Contractors should never have to choose between enforcing their contractual rights and competing for their next public project.   Litigation exclusion clauses create exactly that risk.   Legitimate disputes should be resolved on their merits, not through the threat of exclusion from future work.
26
As the construction season starts winding down, now is the time to start thinking about next year. Earlier tenders create better conditions for competition.   When contractors have time to properly plan and price projects, owners receive more competitive bids with less uncertainty and less risk built into pricing.   Tender earlier. Get better value.
