The first Rotary International polio immunization project occurred in the Philippines in 1979—and we're still working to eradicate polio today. Archivists play a crucial role in preserving the stories of yesterday that inspire us to take action today.

Kids today may not remember polio, but their grandparents likely do.
That’s why @Rotary's Dr Arthur Lavin, founder of @GrandparentsFV, is collecting their stories. Grandparents’ memories teach younger generations what life was like before vaccines protected children from polio, and remind families why vaccines still matter today. #EndPolio

In 1979, Allan Evangelista was one of the first children in the Philippines to receive a polio vaccine during our immunization campaign. Today, that effort has grown into a global movement that has reduced polio cases by 99.9% ♥️
