A patient 27-year-old has recurrent lower abdominal pain. Coronal CT shows an ectopic, homogeneously enhancing pelvic spleen with elongated tortuous vessels.
What is the most likely diagnosis?

The top 3 medical specialties that AI should largely replace within the next 5 years:
1. Radiology
2. Ophthalmology
3. Pathology
Any specialty heavily dependent on interpreting images, scans, or patterns is going to face ENORMOUS disruption.
And this should ultimately mean faster diagnoses, much lower costs, and better access for patients.
What specialty am I missing?
Very scary — seen a correlation to this and underlying mesenteric stenosis resulting in a hypertrophied PDA arcade which is a 🎯 at sphincterotomy. Anyone else seen that?

Great to see the BPH toolbox keep growing. Prostatic artery embolization belongs in the same conversation, especially for large glands and for men who want to avoid surgery or protect ejaculatory function. Urology and IR working together gives patients the most options. #BPH #PAE #IRad @MountSinaiIR

Glue already solved it: fast, no DMSO pain, cheaper, no MRI artifact. And homogeneous filling of the gland probably matters more than how deep you go.

🐸Frog-leg access, despite being slightly more technically challenging, gives you a more ergonomic workflow, especially if the patient will leave the angiosuite with the sheath still in

As CREST-2 is everywhere at the moment, here's my read of the study 👇 (JVS style!)
CAS beat IMM alone (2.8% vs 6.0% at 4y, NNT 31), but it was driven by minor strokes and it's fragile.
My take: intensive medical therapy first, revascularize selectively.

@_backtable THE endovascular podcast. Iykyk.
Fun case showing a combo of PARTO/CARTO techniques with a bunch of little tips on the way (fyi, I am usually a PARTO person when dealing with these).
