CLIFF RESCUE At approximately 1300 hours today, San Francisco Fire Department responded to Fort Funston for a report of a dog that had gone over the cliff, with the dog's human companion following after it. On arrival, crews confirmed one dog and one adult on the cliff side, in the shallower section of the cliffs just north of the hang glider deck. While crews were setting up a rope rescue system, the human companion was able to make their way down to the beach below, though the route was dangerous. Neither the human companion nor the dog was injured. Both the human companion and the dog were evaluated and found to be OK. The incident is now closed.
