#SCASummit26 was everything we wanted our 10-year celebration to be, and we couldn’t have done it without you all. 💗
We looked back at the last 10 years, celebrated the people who have been part of our journey, and looked ahead to the next decade.
If the first 10 years were anything to go by, the next 10 are going to be something else. 💗

AI adoption is no longer the interesting question. What happens after adoption?
The State of Women in African Tech Report 2026 found that 75.2% of women surveyed use AI tools daily, while 79.1% are investing in new skills.
Yet, 57.8% are concerned about data privacy and unauthorised data use when utilizing AI.
These findings raise an important question: Are women being supported to navigate the changes AI brings to their work?
The future of AI at work is not just about who uses the tools, but who gets the support to grow with them.

IS YOUR COMPANY UNDERPAYING YOU AS A WOMAN IN TECH?
Earlier this year, we surveyed over 206 women across 14 African countries, and the findings raise some important questions about how women are compensated in tech.
Here's what we found. 🧵
But these numbers are only the beginning.
Equal pay requires more than good intentions. It requires action.
Employers have a responsibility to:
Make pay more transparent.
Review pay regularly.
Make progression fair.
Create accountability.
Fair compensation needs to be reflected in workplace policies and everyday decisions.
There's a lot more to unpack, and this is just one part of the conversation.
The State of Women in African Tech Report 2026 explores these realities and highlights the changes needed to build a more equitable tech ecosystem.

EQUAL PAY IS STILL A CONVERSATION THAT WE CANNOT AFFORD TO STOP HAVING
42.2% of the 206 women we surveyed are unsure whether they are paid fairly compared with their male colleagues with similar skills and experience.
Globally, women earn around 18% less than men on average.
In the report we found that only 9.3% say they are satisfied or very satisfied with their salary and benefits, while, 41.8% report being dissatisfied or very dissatisfied.
What does this mean for African women in tech?

2026 and we’re STILL having conversations about pay discrepancies between men and women.
At this point, the wage gap is old enough to have a job.
Unfortunately, it still pays women less.
