We’re delighted to have been awarded £200,000 from The Wolfson Foundation – @wolfsonfdn – in support of our ‘Doors Open’ capital project to renovate and restore Smith Square Hall. The grant will help conserve our Grade I listed building and remove it from Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register. At the heart of the restoration, the Hall's crypt will be configured to create a dedicated Learning Space, providing a purpose-built space for school workshops, community music projects and creative learning. "This was a brave attempt – an experiment that paid off handsomely – at doing something different, immersing in the music, living Mahler’s score from the inside out." BachTrack Last night, audiences stepped inside Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 for the first performance of The Mahler Experiment, an immersive experience that invited them to wander among the orchestra and experience the score from within. Want to experience it for yourself? Just a handful of tickets remain for tonight’s performance at 7pm: bit.ly/MahlerExperiment The Mahler Experiment is a collaboration between Sinfonia Smith Square, Tom Morris OBE, and conductor Stephanie Childress.
