How to replace a large, expensive, and slow model with a small, cheaper, fast model and still get the same results.
7x faster and 50% fewer tokens.
This is like fine-tuning, but without touching the model.
Here, we teach Haiku, using Zep Agent Skills, to do what Opus 5.5 does to complete a task.
• It takes 7 minutes with Opus 5.5. Only 59 seconds with Haiku.
• It takes 1.4M tokens with Opus 5.5. Only 700K with Haiku.

With Zep Agent Skills, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash passed more EnterpriseOps-Gym tasks than Claude Opus 5.5 at maximum effort.
Skills are procedures @zep_ai learns from your agent's traces. Each subsequent run can improve them.

🚀 We just launched Zep Agent Skills, the learning layer for enterprise agents.
Agents in production often face problems their skills don’t anticipate. Now they can keep and share what they learn.
It’s free for every Zep account until January 4. Read more below.
When an agent answers from a context graph, it's hard to see which facts it used.
Our graph assistant in the Zep dashboard shows each search it runs and the evidence behind the answer.
We launched Zep v4 this week with a lot of new features. See them all below.
We're excited to announce the launch of the Zep v4 API!
Agents can now navigate a graph by connection. They see how each episode was built using Ingestion Traces and use hyperedges to retrieve facts that connect more than two entities.
Launch post below.
hidden camera behind the TV. whoever works in security at @OpenAI is SMUG rn. deservedly so
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.
At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.
We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

Our graph database at @zep_ai kept failing under load, and adding hardware stopped helping. We replaced it with one we built ourselves. The first version was my holiday project. 🧵
