His speech highlighted the need for more #socialhousing and the vital role frontline workers play in helping people move on from #homelessness. We're grateful to see their experiences recognised in this important debate.

Most people walk past hostile architecture every day without realising what it is. Spikes, sloped benches, barriers in sheltered spaces. These aren’t accidental design choices - they’re deliberately used to stop people from resting or sleeping in public.
For people experiencing #homelessness, this means fewer safe places to go, and greater distance from support. It doesn’t solve homelessness. It hides it.
Public spaces should bring people together, not push people out. We need solutions that address the causes of homelessness, not designs that punish people for experiencing it.
