PLive Card of the Day Number 146: A 1990 Fleer of John Kruk The first (and by far the most distinguished) MLB player to ever hail from Alleghany College of Maryland, Kruk signed with the Padres as a third-round pick in 1981, but would spend most of his ten-year big league career in a Phillies uniform. A three-time All-Star, Kruk finished his playing days with some uniquely round numbers in his career stat line, including 100 career home runs and a .300 career batting average over the course of exactly 1200 games played. Now a color commentator for Phillies broadcasts, Kruk secured his place in the Philadelphia Baseball Wall of Fame in 2011 🔔

PLive Card of the Day Number 145: A 1957 Topps of Red Schoendienst Born Albert Fred Schoendienst, "Red" was one of the finest all-around second basemen of his era. In addition to accumulating 2449 career hits, and never striking out more than 32 times in a single season throughout his 19-year tenure in the majors as a player, he also was a truly gifted defender: his .9934 fielding percentage at the keystone in 1956 set a record for the position that would last for the next thirty years. To top it all off, the Hall-of-Famer won a combined five World Series titles, with the first two coming as a player, followed by three more titles during his days as a manager / bench coach
