The Maserati Ghibli had already made quite an impression when it debuted at the Turin Motor Show on November 3, 1966. Sixty years later, Giorgetto Giugiaro's design at Ghia remains one of the most fascinating chapters in Italian grand touring.
But Maserati wasn't done making an impression.
From 1970, both the Coupé and Spyder were offered with a more powerful 4.9-litre V8 engine delivering 335 CV, taking the name Ghibli SS. An evolution that brought even more performance to an already extraordinary Grand Tourer, combining Italian elegance with a decidedly sporting character.
