A fatal mountain malady. A mother in desperate need. A holy warrior forced to step into the crosshairs of the Cathedral. My brand-new heroic fantasy novella, The Blue Tabard available free on my website.

Staring at 1.3 points for Roschon Johnson on my team (needed somebody with Love looking very iffy for Sunday)
In hindsight, the Roschon Johnson usage in Week 6 was perhaps more about keeping D’Andre Swift fresh for Week 7 on a short week Swift had 26 of 28 CHI RB opportunities tonight including a season-high 22 carries

As a huge geek about the Pacific theatre of World War II, I really enjoyed this "What If" movie about a modern aircraft carrier getting time dilated to the attack on Pearl Harbor.

31 years married today! We’re as far from the stereotypical "old married couple" as you can get. We still act more like we’ve been married 31 months instead of 31 years. Closer & more in love every day. She’s the greatest blessing in my life. Happy Anniversary.

This is Jedi Master Bastila Shan. I regret to report that BioWare has fallen. That time has passed, and our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged: our trust, our faith, our friendships. But we must persevere. May the Force be with you, always.

It truly boggles my mind that an innocuous statement like "woah, they made a flying car" has to be political somehow...

Replying to @ProFootballTalk
@ProFootballTalk acting shocked why people call out Simms for his awful Bryce/Panthers takes is hilarious. Simms had Bryce ranked as the 31st best QB going into the year. Picked the Eagles to win because of Tanner McKee then downplays the victory because we played Tanner 😂

Read all seven books from The Chronicles of Narnia out loud to your children, until they know the voice of Aslan for themselves.
An old ape named Shift finds a dead lion's skin floating in a pool. He sits down with a needle and thick thread, and every time a bird flies over, he stops sewing and waits for it to pass. He knows exactly what he's making, and he doesn't want anyone in the sky to see it. C.S. Lewis wrote that scene in 1956, in the last Narnia book. It's the one most of us never got to as kids. I only read it a few years ago. When his friend Puzzle the donkey comes back from market, Shift ties the skin onto him and tells him to stand in the shadows. Then he tells the whole of Narnia that Aslan has come back. Lewis tells you how it works. No one who had ever seen a real lion would have been taken in for a moment. It only works from far away, at night, by firelight, with the donkey kept quiet while the ape does all the talking. Puzzle gets scared and says what if the real Aslan comes. Shift laughs and says Aslan never turns up nowadays. Right then there's a crack of thunder and the ground shakes under them. Puzzle says it's a warning. Shift says yes, it's a sign, and it means Aslan approves. Now Gerwig's Aslan has Bowie's face and Meryl Streep's voice. The lion who sang a whole world into being in The Magician's Nephew, the voice so deep it shook the ground, talks like someone else now. Shift did the same thing. He kept the lion's face and changed who was talking. Lewis is gentle with the donkey, and I want to be too. Puzzle isn't evil. He's tired and trusting, and someone he believed kept telling him he wasn't clever enough to judge for himself. Lewis saves his anger for the ape with the needle. A dad told me he was reading that first chapter to his kids and had to put the book down, because it read like these Hollywood headlines. Pick up the real books. Read all seven out loud, every night, until your kids know that voice. A child who has heard the real lion can't be sold a donkey in a skin.

#Panthers QB Bryce Young is the first QB with at least 280 passing yards and a touchdown in each of his team's first five games of a season since 2013 when both Peyton Manning & Drew Brees did so. Manning won MVP and led the Broncos to an NFL-record 606 points that season while Brees finished with 5,162 passing yards and helped the Saints to a playoff berth and Wild Card win. Young leads the NFL with 309.8 passing yards per game while the Panthers' 146 points are the most through 5 games in franchise history. per NFL Research

That was a lot closer than the final score indicates but it's another Carolina Panthers win! Sweet Caroline, bam, bam, bam. Keep Pounding. Panthers win!

This has been the most successful I've been with one of those "Read the Bible in a Year" type of plans. Granted I'm behind, but I've just completed my first ever full read of the Old Testament. Malachi seems really germane to our current culture. Onto Matthew!

"So far as I know we did not set sail to look for things useful but to seek honour and adventures. And here is as great an adventure as I have ever heard of, and here, if we turn back, no little impeachment of all our honours." --Reepicheep the mouse-knight from C. S. Lewis's The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
i'm told i should find this incredibly exciting but it just seems like thousands of man-hours wasted on a silly pointless stunt. catching the rocket was amazing and practical this is... just ok, sure, whatever. maybe i'm wrong?

Watched the first episode of VisionQuest. Only had time for the first one. Overall, I enjoyed it. Vision, Ultron, and all the AIs were great. Loved all the little techy easter eggs. Made a narrative decision that I didn't like. Violence was more graphic than typical MCU.
