In 1961, a mafia in Kentucky drugged a former NFL quarterback and put him in bed with a stripper. George Ratterman had played for the Cleveland Browns. Now he was running for sheriff, promising to shut down the gambling and prostitution that had made Newport, Kentucky the original “Sin City.” The mob lured him to a hotel suite above the Tropicana nightclub and drugged him. When he came to, he was undressed and in bed with a stripper named April Flowers. Three Newport cops burst in the room to arrest him. But instead of ending his campaign, he fought back and the set-up fell apart. A blood test found the drugs in his system and the stripper later admitted he was unconscious. Ratterman won the election. And with help from FBI agents sent by Robert Kennedy, he cleaned out the town. “In four years I got rid of the gambling and the prostitution,” he said, “and I didn’t get killed.”

Thanks to @BigMoBarrett and @LetsGoBigMoe for the podcast and interview training over the years for @mattponatoski. The @KSRTHESHOW was very complimentary of how well he handled himself for only 18 yrs old 💙🏈⚾️

Thank you @JeffreyWeber2 for a great experience at Jeff Ruby’s and an awesome way to wrap up senior week! Appreciate everything. Excited to get after it and head into the playoffs! #AMDG

Johnny Bench was 22 years old in 1970 when he hit 45 home runs, drove in 148 and won the NL MVP as a catcher. He'd been Rookie of the Year two seasons earlier, and two years later he won MVP again. He caught one handed back when most catchers still used two, and he won ten straight Gold Gloves. Number one among the greatest Reds ever, ahead of Pete Rose and every one of his 4,256 hits. Greatest Reds player ever, who's your answer?

Good Morning from Big Moe! Coach Gerry Faust would visit this Blessed Mother statue every time he visited campus. People would want to talk to him as soon as they saw him enter the front doors, but he would very kindly ask them to give him 5 minutes to first visit Mary and her Child. Then he would connect with anyone who would wished to see/speak to him. He was a very special man who attended daily Mass for 71 straight years. A beautiful soul loved by many. We miss every day. *Not a bad football coach, either!
