The checkpoint isn’t the place to lose your cool. Interfering with screening, threatening officers, or disruptive behavior can have serious consequences. TSA and @FAANews each play a critical role in keeping you safe. Respect the process and the people protecting you.

Your vape can fly. Your checked bag is not the place for it. Vapes and e-cigarettes must go in your carry-on, not checked baggage, because lithium batteries and checked luggage aren’t a great combo.

Your suitcase shouldn’t be a “we’ll deal with it at the checkpoint” situation. PackSmart. Check before you pack for any leftover items in an old backpack or suitcase. Your future self (and your TSA officer) will appreciate it.

Some things should stay a mystery. Airport security rules aren’t one of them. Wondering what can fly in your carry-on? Not sure what to expect at the checkpoint? Slide into @AskTSA’s DMs. We’re literally here to help.

It’s Reptile Awareness Day! Our officers have found reptiles in weird places, from turtles in undergarments to lizards in coolers, and snakes in bags and even someone’s pants! The humane thing to do is check your airline’s rules before traveling with any animal. Don’t hide them!

A TSO at DJT Airport in Florida stepped up when an airport employee got trapped in an elevator, prying open the doors and alerting airport operations. Proud to have him on our team! Full story: tsa.gov/about/employee-stori…

Droning on about it… because flying a drone in a no drone zone near an airport could quite literally cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars and time in a federal prison!

We don’t care if you bring a whole rotisserie chicken or even the full family size 11 herbs & spices bucket… but please check with your airline before bringing your actively clucking feathered lawn dinosaur.

Foiled again, this time by our officers at San Diego Airport… Let’s just say it’s NEVER a sharp idea to hide or even pack a knife of any size in your carry-on. If you’ve got any tin foil travel theories that need to be checked, text our team @AskTSA (275-872).

From bomb sniffing cats to candy security canines, it’s a busy month for pets… it’s cool with us if your fuzzy friend flies but please verify with your airline that your highly trained security professional has the proper credentials needed for flight clearance.

A clear warning on flying drones in restricted airspace. According to a DOJ indictment, Pujan Gajjar did it twice over an active runway, now he faces up to 8 years in federal prison. Endanger others by flying your drone in restricted airspace, and you will be found and charged.
