Most onchain games sell you a loop. Axie: Den of Mysteries sells you a decision. You buy Keys. You drop into 9 generated floors. Floor 10 is Kilnbane. That’s the whole pitch — and it’s why the game finally feels like a roguelike instead of a faucet with sprites. The smartest rule in DoM is this: Moving costs Stamina. Attacking does not. So the tax isn’t combat. The tax is positioning. You learn enemy patterns, take the free hit, and spend Stamina only when the tile is worth it. When Stamina gets low, your vision shrinks. The dungeon literally closes in. That’s not flavor text. That’s pressure. Then the run asks you to build. Levels 1–5: five Talent slots. After that: Enhancements on what you already picked. No two clears play the same, because the Den doesn’t give you a loadout. It gives you a fork, then makes you live with it all the way to the boss. And the economy is honest about what it is. Treasure is your cut of the weekly pool. Beat Kilnbane, and you might cut a Blessing Gem — 0.5x to 21x on the Keys you put in. More Keys don’t print money. They raise the cost of a bad floor. A 1-Key run is a scouting trip. A fat-Key run is you telling the Den: if I brick this build on floor 8, I paid for the privilege. That’s the part 1.0 was missing. A destination. Not “how deep can I greed.” “Can I make this build survive Kilnbane.” DoM: Reborn didn’t invent a new genre. It just remembered that a dungeon needs a bottom, a boss, and a reason to keep one more Stamina in the tank. Kilnbane is waiting on floor 10. The Den is open. @playAxieDOM

Kalshi reportedly did $31B in June volume and Polymarket hit ~$10B. The boring take is “prediction markets are back.” I think the weirder take: sports betting just gave crypto its cleanest UX test.

My guess: the winner is not the sharpest market. It is the product that makes a normal fan feel smart in 20 seconds, then survives the first ugly resolution fight. That is the actual PMF test.
25
The scary part is not “is this gambling?” Of course it is adjacent. The real test is whether users trust the payout when the answer is messy, delayed, or politically annoying.
10
Kalshi wins the normie route: regulated, familiar, basically “what if DraftKings wore a suit.” Polymarket wins the internet-native route: politics, memes, weird questions, global chaos.
11
That matters because most crypto onboarding starts with ideology: sovereignty, settlement, self-custody, all the sacred words. Sports starts with ego. Much easier funnel lol

Nobody opens a World Cup market to learn about wallets. They open it because their friend has a Messi take, the odds are moving, and being right in public feels too good.

We joked about AI traders until they started launching the coins too. bot.fun beta is a weird signal: the “trader” is becoming the issuer, shiller and market maker in one loop. Not sure if that’s genius or cursed. Probably both.

The weird part is AI labs are rediscovering cloud's oldest trick. Give startups credits until the app is too expensive to leave. The model is not the product anymore. The tab is. teapaw.org/amitisinvesting/status…
Man...these token costs are starting to seriously become an issue. Yes, companies want to generate as many useful tokens as possible, but they really don't want to pay for them if open-source alternatives exist. Anthropic and OpenAI are starting to realize the reality of this and have started to give out as much free compute as they can in order to lock startups into using their models over others, as per the WSJ. This is probably a necessary thing to do for these model companies and they have capital to subsidize giving away the compute, but it also speaks to how serious the wars for tokens are becoming. As both OpenAI and Anthropic get ready to go public, they need more levers for growth and it feels like rev-sharing with many of the companies they work with, or some version of sharing in the upside in exchange for compute, may be part of the way they lock people into their models so that they don't go the cheaper route for tokens. Or, they try to drive token costs down further and find their margin in different areas, but more and more companies are questioning how much they should be paying for tokens.

The x402-at-the-edge angle is not “AI agents can buy articles.” It is websites learning to charge bots like customers instead of treating them like weather. Every crawler gets a menu, a price, and a receipt. teapaw.org/Charu_Sethi/status/207…
The place an AI agent pays for content is moving into the CDN. AWS added x402 support to CloudFront and WAF Bot Control: a publisher can return an HTTP 402 with a price, and accept USDC on Base or Solana into their own wallet. Coinbase's x402 Facilitator verifies the on-chain payment, then the content is served, all in one request. AWS says it does not process the payment or take a cut. WAF Bot Control already classifies 650-plus agent types, so pricing can differ per bot. Cloudflare's Monetization Gateway does the same thing at the edge, but it is still waitlist-only: no general availability, no named customers, no pricing disclosed yet. Two things stand out. The enforcement point is infrastructure most sites already run, so for a publisher on CloudFront this is a config change, not a new integration. And the on-chain check runs through one facilitator, Coinbase's, even though x402 governance sits with a Linux Foundation body. Availability is not volume. Coinbase reports roughly 169 million x402 payments in year one, but that is a single self-reported number, and weekly counts cooled from their late-2025 peak. Edge rails being ready is necessary; it does not prove the demand is there yet. @awscloud @Cloudflare @CoinbaseDev @coinbase #AgenticPayments #x402

Solana RWAs just hit $3.62B. The weird part: it doesn’t feel like a crypto narrative yet. No giant hype cycle. Just stocks, funds, stablecoins, treasuries, and credit rails showing up one by one.

I’m not buying the “tokenize everything tomorrow” meme. I’m watching where boring assets actually land, where liquidity follows, and where users don’t have to care that the backend is crypto.
