The alleged $5.6B Binance exploit is a massive security failure.
What potentially happened:
Attacker gained access to Binance’s signing infrastructure.
Used EIP-7702 to delegate wallet control to malicious code.
Automated treasury systems reportedly refilled compromised wallets.
If confirmed, this wasn’t just a smart contract exploit. It was a failure of key security, monitoring, and treasury controls.
A centralized exchange managing billions should never allow one compromised signing path to trigger a disaster of this scale.

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.
