choosing Pengu is the easy part
plushies, capsule figures, collectibles, claw machines... there's already enough variety to fill a whole store
and a massive global community
bought 4 Genesis Pudgy Rods after the @PudgyWorld_ fishing update 🎣
new fish are cool, but the hook timing and fish fights caught my attention. less mindless farming, more actual gameplay
if fishing ever goes onchain, maybe these rods will come in handy
or maybe i just bought 4 JPEG sticks
rog rod rog
funny how you only notice how much the sales bots are part of the huddle's daily rhythm when they go quiet
good call putting security first. hope they're back soon
seeing Pudgy plushies in Whop's office got me thinking
retail gets Pengu into people's homes
but having friends among the people building the next big consumer platforms could open entirely different doors
new products, creator networks, distribution
@whop is now valued at $5.1B
the Pudgy social graph might be worth watching just as closely as its retail expansion
The Peng Pal Mafia strikes again. Amazing work by the @whop team. Truly some of the best entrepreneurs out there. 🐐🐐🐐
i get the point, but comparing Pudgy and BAYC like this ignores one big factor: timing
not long ago Adam was sweeping Pudgies in bulk, even above floor
that didn’t mean every Pudgy was suddenly liquid forever, it just meant a major buyer was absorbing supply at that moment
now that wave has cooled, while BAYC has fresh momentum from ApeFest, Mudwater and renewed attention
different market phases, different buyers, different demand
same thing happens with tokens
one gets oversold, another catches whale bids, market maker activity or a new catalyst from the team
liquidity isn’t static
and listing 0.04 ETH above floor doesn’t guarantee a sale, especially when “clean” is subjective
if the floor keeps dropping and your listing stays unchanged for a month, you’re getting further away from the market every day
we also have no idea when another major buyer might show up or what the next catalyst could be
i’d rather look at actual bids, volume, completed sales and time-to-sale across different market conditions
one NFT sitting unsold for 48 hours is a data point, not a verdict on an entire collection
I'm not sure Pudgy Penguins tick all the boxes to become the top NFT collection many people expect them to be.
They might tick the boxes when it comes to toys or other things, but as a PFP NFT collectibles I'm not so sure.
I've been trying to sell this Penguin for 2 days at just 0.04 ETH above floor. It's not a rare or a grail, but it's a very clean Penguin.
Compare that to Apes. A clean Ape listed just 0.04 ETH above floor would sell instantly. Even at 1 ETH above floor, it wouldn't take more than a day to sell.
I'm not posting this to FUD Penguins or to sell my NFT. I just find it interesting and wanted to open a discussion with other collectors.
quick heads up for @SuperTrip64 players
if you log in with your Abstract wallet, open the game and set up a username + pass
Abstract sign-in ends Dec 15. don't risk losing access to your progress and TripCoins
also curious what's cooking on Robinhood 👀
the interesting part of $PENGU landing on SoFi isn't another place to trade it
it's now in the same app people use for banking, loans and investing
15.8M SoFi members. not 15.8M new buyers, obviously
but one less reason to ever open a crypto exchange
that's a different kind of distribution
not every Pudgy moment needs a giant billboard
sometimes it's just @Symphony_Young enjoying ice cream surrounded by penguins at Igloo Gelato in Shanghai
no crypto stage. just a simple dessert stop turned into a Pudgy experience
this is how characters become part of everyday life
billboards get people to notice Pudgy
but someone taking the time to make art of YOUR penguin hits differently
@LittleWenZ has been doing this for the huddle since 2024
not every valuable part of a brand shows up in the reach numbers
120B GIPHY views sounds like a vanity metric until you think about where those views happen
Pudgy had 65B at the end of last year. now it's 120B
the interesting part isn't just the number
people are carrying the characters into conversations the brand never started
that's a very different kind of distribution
