As the dry season eventually gives way to the life-giving rains, the Savannah will burst back into life, rejuvenated and vibrant. The cycle of abundance will resume once more, and the delicate dance between predator and prey will begin anew, continuing the eternal rhythm of nature. The dry season, though harsh and unforgiving, serves as a stark reminder of the power of nature and the remarkable resilience of life on Earth, showcasing the enduring spirit of survival.

the older i get the more i realize how much of life is just increasing your surface area for luck. go outside more. travel when you can. try new cafés. wander into museums. take a different route home. hike a new trail. see a city you’ve never seen. bring a notebook. talk to strangers. ask better questions. start something small on the side. in other words, give yourself more chances for something unexpected to happen. you can literally just do things. and strangely enough, the more you do, the more luck seems to find you.

Almost no one manages to hold onto their sanity in crypto because everyone comes into it hoping to make it big in 1 cycle like earlier entrants, and instead they end up with deteriorated health, a lower net worth, and a gambling addiction 4 years later

These barely 30 year old crypto builders and KOLs who “quit crypto” are frauds. You barely even started. You didn’t even give crypto a chance. You didn’t quit. You never started. Stolen valor.

There are lots of uber-wealthy people who don't care about clothes and thus wear whatever is cheap and convenient. Also lots of middle-class people who care a lot about clothes and thus splurge for things like Saint Laurent, The Row, and Cucinelli. IMO, it's not useful to structure clothing like this. More often, you're just falling for the archetypes that brands create to make their clothes aspirational (e.g., lots of middle class people buying expensive brands because they think this places them alongside the uber-rich). IMO, it's more useful to develop an internal sense of taste, rather than care about what type of class category your clothes project.

btw if you can't stomach 50-75% drawdowns on any given short time horizon, you just should stay away from this asset class, this is not for you

I guess Satoshi didn't have it on his bingo card that BTC would ever be >100k yet transaction fees virtually zero.

The more $ETH & $SOL can push while $BTC consolidates, the more explosive of a grand finale we can entertain.

Bitcoin is fully entrenched in the top levels of American government. Ross is free. All of the OGs are rich. All innovation gets pushed back on by maxis. The original ideology is dead, so there is nothing to do but leave.

To the class of '24/'25: There's a famous line from @pmarca when he moved to Silicon Valley in 1994. The Internet boom was already under way. He came from a small town in Iowa, and seeing these growing giants like AOL and Cisco, he was worried that he was already too late. That by 1994, he worried the whole Internet thing was basically done. I felt the same when I first got into crypto VC in 2018. Polychain, Pantera, a16z, DCG, and others were already legendary. Was there really space for another crypto VC? Seemed like maybe it was already too late, and the industry had consolidated. Don't worry. Barely anything has happened yet. BTC is still 1/10 of gold. Less than 1% of the world is on-chain. There hasn't been a single law passed in the US about crypto. And there's not a single major central bank in the world owning any of this stuff. You're not late. Crypto is still tiny compared to what it's going to be in 20 years. So welcome to the crypto—a lot is going to change from here. Come make your mark.

Colored coins slowly becoming reality
Introducing The Robinhood Chain. The first Ethereum Layer 2 optimized for real-world assets via @arbitrum—from public to private to global. You shouldn’t have to rely on a broker to trade assets. Instead, you should be able to seamlessly trade real-world assets in seconds. We’re working with regulators to make this a reality. More is coming soon.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned in both life and crypto: freedom is the real endgame. It’s not about the number in your portfolio, but about having the flexibility to choose how you spend your days, where you live, and who you work with. Money is just a tool; never lose sight of what it’s meant to unlock for you.
