Legs feed the wolf. Talent bar just went up yet again @saquon 🤝 @tryramp
Should we pull Saquon Barkley off the field on Sunday to file expense reports?

Today, Ramp raised $1.85B at a $60B valuation. Seven years ago, Karim and I wrote our mission on a Post-it: “Save companies time and money.” Our mission hasn't changed. It’s just gotten bigger.

Had a blast with my friend @HarryStebbings. We went deep on a few topics, particularly why we believe talent and culture are the biggest inputs to the GTM equation. We’re far from having it all figured out, but I couldn’t be more grateful to work alongside such an inspiring team of sellers, leaders, and people across Ramp who care deeply and work incredibly hard every day. We’re hiring across the board, so please get in touch; and if you're not already on @tryramp -- we'd love to work extremely hard for your business. open.spotify.com/episode/01i…

Best of the best! @llmh
Today, Long Lake completed our $6.3B acquisition of Amex GBT. Long Lake acquires and transforms generational businesses with AI across the American services economy. Amex GBT is the travel partner for 17,500 businesses in 140 countries. Last year, Amex GBT booked 35 million trips for 10 million travelers. This marks Long Lake’s 40th acquisition, and our family of companies now employs nearly 30,000 people. We founded Long Lake three years ago with the thesis that AI is going to change every company, but there’s a large overhang between AI capabilities and how most businesses leverage AI tools. We partner with strong, profitable, and growing businesses to help them deploy AI and improve their customer service. Our first cohort of companies has doubled their EBITDA in less than two years through topline and productivity growth, all while increasing headcount. (We’re proud to say that we’ve never conducted a layoff.) We’re excited to share a bit more about what we’ve been up to.

Base Power & Energy is redefining how people consume and think about their power company — incredible team executing at the highest level 🚀🚀
Today, we're launching Base Core, our own battery designed & built in Texas, and announcing our $1B Series D to bring it to homes across the country. Three years ago, we started Base with a belief that batteries were the unlock to energy abundance. We saw battery storage as the foundation of a modern energy system, and believed we could win the market with vertical integration, technology, and relentless execution (what we now call Base Pace). So we set out to build a network of distributed batteries to deliver affordable, reliable electricity to homeowners and utilities. While the job is far from finished, the launch of Base Core is the most meaningful step in that plan. We’ve spent the last few years learning hard lessons about building a distributed battery fleet, going from 1 install per day in June of ‘24 to 100 installs per day in June of ‘26. These lessons - how the battery is shipped, installed, used, and monitored - informed the design of Core. Now, Core will be the foundation of the company's next phase of growth. Base Core is a first-of-its-kind home battery. At ~40 kWh it is 3x the size of most home batteries, providing up to 36 hours of backup for the average home. In the event of multi-day outage, Core is equipped with a (first of its kind) generator port - pull out a small portable generator and charge the battery back up to keep your home running as long as you need. When an outage does happen, the backup is seamless - most members won't even notice the grid went down. It's built to withstand Texas summers, Chicago Winters, and everything in between. And finally, it’s manufactured by our team in Austin, at Base Factory 1, right across the street from our HQ. This new capital will bring Core to more homes and to accelerate our ambition beyond batteries. The round is co-led by Ribbit, Addition, Valor, and JP Morgan, with participation from new major investors D1, Sands, Coatue, Layer Global, and Energy Impact Partners. All of Base’s major existing investors are re-investing, including Thrive, Altimeter, Lightspeed, a16z, CapitalG, Trust, and more. This brings our valuation to $13B. As we enter the most important growth period in the history of the electricity industry, our mission has not changed - advance human prosperity by delivering the world's most affordable and reliable electricity. Our strategy has not changed - technology, plus vertical integration, plus relentless execution, leads to a compounding cost advantage. What has changed is the scope of our ambition - this new capital, along with the team and capabilities we've built over the last three years, positions us to build technology across the electric stack, including what it takes to serve surging demand from AI, and to deepen our partnerships with utilities as they work to meet rising demands. Electricity is the largest and most essential industry in the world, and it does not have a defining technology company. The company that delivers the most affordable, reliable power will be one of the largest and most impactful companies in the world. We intend to build it. If you'd like to join us, reach out. Onwards. basepowercompany.com/core.

Today we’re launching Ramp Router. 3 years ago, we built an internal LLM router at @tryramp that powers AI products for 70,000 customers. Back then it was mostly about saving money. Now it feels obvious: the best model changes constantly. GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Qwen, DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM - prices and capabilities move every week. So we’re opening up access to everyone. One OpenAI-compatible endpoint. The right model for every request. Lower cost without rewriting your app. Reserve access to use it.

Great @Fortune piece on @davidsenra today. Years ago, David kept texting me and @karimatiyeh to back a podcast with fewer than 1,000 listeners. "Trust me on this one." We did. That podcast became @tbpn. It sold to OpenAI this April and along the way did more for @tryramp's profile than any ad money could buy. What the piece gets right about David and mostly leaves between the lines: he's read 415 biographies of the people who got it right and he turned that discipline into a place the rest of us go to study. @FoundersPodcast isn't a podcast so much as a school for builders. It's why the founders I asked didn't describe it, they revered it. When you've studied the greats that obsessively, you can tell the sublime from the merely great — and you'll bet everything on the difference before the rest of us can see it at all. David earned that audience one obsessed listener at a time. Summarizing a book a week, alone in a room, scraping by for years before anyone was listening. The fame didn't change him. Neither did the money: he turned down $50M+ buyout offers to keep Founders his, and he takes no equity in the bets he sends others. For David, great work itself is always the point. The lesson I keep relearning from him: when you find talent like that, don't hedge. Back them completely. The returns aren't linear. Nothing better than watching a friend succeed. Grateful to be in business with him too — Founders Podcast, the new show, whatever comes next.

Fired up for Steijn and the Lassie team!!
Today, we're introducing Lassie and $47M in funding led by a16z. We're building AI that runs small businesses, starting with doctors' offices. Lassie is already trusted by 700+ practices across the country, working autonomously to provide them with 30 hours of labor per month. To get here, we first had to leave Robinhood and Superhuman to work in offices ourselves. Here's how that went.

Cognition obsesses over customers and the numbers take care of themselves. Team is dialed in, humility/conviction at scale is a magical thing 🚀
1/ We’ve raised over $1B at a $26B valuation, led by @Lux_Capital, @generalcatalyst, and @8vc. Our enterprise usage has grown >10x since the start of this year, and our run-rate revenue grew to $492 M. We launched Devin two years ago as the first AI software engineer. Since then, cloud agents have gone from niche to mainstream, and today they are the fastest growing way to create software.

We held a company-wide AI hackathon at @tryramp and got to put Glass, our internal AI productivity app, to the test. 650 participants. 100 AI mentors. 305 submissions. 7 finalists. 1 Glass. It was a blast getting to see so many non-engineers become builders and bring their ideas to life as full featured internal apps or robust, shareable skills.

I grew up in Lebanon. My wife is Swiss. Half my family is French🥖 + Swiss🫕 and I spend a lot of time in Europe. Europe has incredible builders — many of them work at Ramp. But building companies there is still far more painful than it should be. I’ve always wanted to see Europe move as fast as the US. Yesterday we announced Ramp’s expansion into the UK and EU with the acquisition of Billhop. Let’s help make that happen.
