Jason Calacanis said Bitcoin had a 60–70% chance of going to zero in 2018.
Bitcoin was around $3,700.
It later traded above $100,000.
He then argued Bitcoin would be replaced by something better.
Now he’s telling people to dump it for AI.
Maybe before telling everyone else where to put their money, Jason should explain why anyone should take his Bitcoin predictions seriously.
A brutal year for Bitcoin is just getting started.
Give me three minutes to explain why you should dump it now.
Outflows from ETFs are signal and will continue.
We will test the 57k low again in the next 12 months.
Why?
Because there are far too many dynamic places to put your money that are creating MUCH more value.
Why put your resources into a dead network that offers nothing beyond a store of value?
What's the point of place the BTC be if Bitcoin's Ponzi-scheme nature has gone away!?!
The viral nature of bitcoin was it's power... if you didn't own you were MOCKED!
Now? Completely reasonable, heck, SMARTER, to ignore bitcoin and place other bets!
No one is trying to convince people to buy Bitcoin anymore... the memes and NFTs are gone.
No one is saying $ BTC can change the world, because it won't — and BECAUSE AI HAS!
Just sell and shift from Bitcoin to Super Intelligence because one provides little to no value, and the other provides unlimited upside for humanity.
This should be obvious to everyone right now.
Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again.

Chamath is right. Bitcoin will get hacked by AI agents.
That’s why I keep a large hoard of cash in my Chase bank account. There’s no way an AI will be able to hack that.
What could possibly go wrong?
Quite a lede

Did you guys ever think it might be a good idea to put this off a few months?

As i've said before, self custody is not the panacea it's been touted as. There is no fool proof way to secure crypto. there just isn't. the sooner we all acknowledge that and accept that owning crypto is risky under any conditions or with any type of storage, the better off we all are.
Ledger is investigating reports of loss of funds from users in South East Asia who purchased products from a reseller named CryptoBillis. As a precaution, and pending the results of our investigation, we have asked CryptoBilis to pause all sales and shipments of Ledger devices. We recommend Ledger users who purchased from this reseller in the last 90 days to not initiate set up if you have not done so yet. If you have set up your Ledger device, consider moving assets to a new Ledger signer (with new seed). We will continue to inform customers of updates as the investigation progresses.
