It might be time to start putting Texas Tech’s 2025 defense in the conversations as one of the best CFB defenses of all time

Jacob Rodriguez has been KRYPTONITE for some of the NFL’s most elite RB’s. Rodriguez bottled up Ashton Jeanty AND Kenneth Walker in just his first three games. The Dolphins rookie LB is already one of the league’s MOST INSTINCTIVE LB’s 😳🔥

Fun fact: My first national award was also from AAJA, as a student. The piece was on @1CoachTY, a linebacker at Baylor. A decade later, he’s assistant linebackers coach at Tech. Full circle!

Unbelievably excited to announce that I won the Excellence in Sports Reporting award from the @aaja for my Texas Tech piece last year! This is the first solo national writing award of my career, and it’s an honor for it to come from an organization that means so much to me.
