There is a total disconnect between what we do on the pitch and the reality of how the game is played. The manager's job is to make sure that he has planned and prepared for that, but ours doesn't. It's MY WAY or the HIGHWAY approach.
Apathy was a word both @geordiedentist and @oldheatonian used before this match to describe the current situation, and I agreed. But I think you've now been overly generous with such a word, I think the word incapacitated, sounds more reasonable and descriptive.
When I saw Kevin Keegan basically arguing and owning up to any shortfalls, and quite happy to have it out with whoever wanted some, I knew then he was a brilliant manager. Why? He accepted that he bought the players, set the tactics and strategy, and would take all the blame. RIP
In hindsight, I'm now very happy we have these brilliant International breaks that break up the PL for 2 or 3 weeks. I get to have a birthday without having to watch something that allegedly the manager counts as football. That is an insult to football, it's more BOOTBALL.
