Focus isn't a one-time achievement. It's a discipline of return.
"Fix your eyes on the Lord! Do it once. Do it daily. Do it ten thousand times ten thousand times. Do it constantly."
Notice he doesn't promise you'll stop drifting. He assumes you will. The instruction isn't never look away, it's keep looking back, however many times it takes.
