A few things about this clip. He owns two bakery’s and has obviously worked hard on the 1st one to get a second and then provided jobs for local people. The fact he has to try and find 3-4k extra a WEEK because of gov policy is scandalous! It’s just sabotage and this is the plight of small local businesses across the uk.
The worst thing though is he won’t get any sympathy as in the eyes of others he’s perceived as “doing well”. He literally cannot win. Hes hated for being successful and the gov wants to take everything off him! Britain in 2026

On @hackernews this week it's full of GitHub pain. Basically its buckling under AI commit + CI load and Microsoft's rushed move to Azure hasnt helped. These complaints have been going on for a while.

Dual MIT/Apache-2.0. Run the whole thing yourself, on your own box, keep your files on local disk or any S3 bucket (S3, R2, MinIO). Or use our hosted version.
The bit I like the most: we run fleets of coding agents on a single branch, and the filesystem stops them overwriting each other. If an agent tries to save something it hasn’t read the latest version of, the write gets refused, it re-reads and tries again.

Everyday though I read things people post and generally wonder to myself how you can actually think that way. Some of it is utter detestable.
Im somewhat vocal on Uk taxes and policy and there are some accounts on here that would genuinely see you with nothing, they would take everything you have.
I would like to see everyone suceed and keep as much of that as you possibly can. As someone with a number of businesses I love to see people take a risk and suceed. Feels like thats a crime on this app at times.
