How do you like yours?...... I’m talking about board reports!  I have just come out of a board meeting and wanted to ask how you request yours. It was a really quick and punchy meeting today because we worked on a more targeted approach for reports and agendas. Now anyone that is around me knows that I am not a lover of long ‘texty’ reports with lots of operational or strategic stories in word produced by executive teams for board meetings. What I am a lover of is reports presented in charts or graphs with a little narrative describing any variation, why it happened ( what changed)  and what you are going to do about it. It’s easier for boards to identify trends, performance, areas in need of improvement and strengths at a glance, there is also more focus on what is important to be measured in a world where so much can be measured. Just this one little thing can make a massive difference, charts and graphs are quick to produce at the click of a button. They save time, improve efficiency, board effectiveness and governance takes a massive leap forward. I had dinner with Harry Redknapp… Well not just me but 150 others on Wednesday and he over exceeded on expectations.... The event for the The Sporting Club over delivered and it was certainly a memorable experience meeting him. What really stands out is what a great story teller he was. The names rolled off his tongue like it was yesterday and he kept us all engaged with his humorous countless tales. The interview was also skilfully crafted by Host Ian Stafford It was also amazing that £9,000 was raised for BulliesOut the charity of choice for this event. That can really make a difference to the team all do and tops the 3 million already raised through the club for various charities. Well Harry is certainly up there with headliners I have had the pleasure of seeing for sure and if you ever get a chance to be in the room with him then don't pass the opportunity by. Thanks to Ian for organising another fabulous event. Great to be part of The Sporting Club experience and well done to the Welsh team Joe, Lisa and Julie for enhancing the experience and looking after us all.
