Wrapping up @founders_alpha honestly the most inspiring conference I've been to.
Learned so much from dozens of founders and operators.
A big thanks to @RomanEcom for hosting and for opening many eyes to the possibilities. That's a rare gift
We're seeing the top brands on NEXT add 20%+ higher average order values heading into Q4 peak season.
Winners test and iterate angles faster, then drive up bids to capture scale - profitably.
Feels like the night before xmas. Big thanks to @RomanEcom for the opportunity to connect with so many of the great minds in ecommerce. See you all in Shenzhen 🙏
NEXT is proud to be sponsoring the Founders Alpha Summit, hosted by Peak 21 and @RomanEcom.
@29nextdevin and @stirlingbond are in Shenzhen and will be leading a private session on Saturday:
"Full Funnel with Upsells: Where the Extra Revenue Comes From at Nine-Figure Scale"
Parents with young kids - any ideas on sovereign AI for the family?
Thinking locally hosted models, private hardware, etc. Any agents out there designed for this (like a Hermes for kids?)

Closing one of our most epic test ever.
You think Shopify has the best checkout on the planet... until you're able to ab test other type of checkouts on @NextCommerceCo.
Bullish on this platform

Re: the anti-AI doomer-mill.
When things are changing really fast, it's natural for people to feel an urge to "go back to the way things used to be".
But in life there is never any going back. You can try to reverse or slow down, but then you'll just wind up somewhere...else.
No reason in a democracy these deals shouldn't be drafted in the open and available for public inspection

Most companies still treat AI adoption like a training problem.
I think it's much more like apprenticeship.
People change how they work when they can watch a useful workflow produce better output, copy it, and get a few safe reps in.
Workshops create awareness while visible craft inspires changes in behavior.
That's why teams actually getting results treat adoption like any tradecraft, with hands-on encouraged over theory.
Ugly funnels usually get explained as a taste problem.
I think they're more often an incentive problem.
Affiliates optimize for payout. Merchants respond by extracting a little more revenue per session. Checkouts get more aggressive, refund pressure rises, processors tighten, and everyone acts surprised by the downstream damage.
If you want cleaner funnels, you have to change the economics underneath them.
Shopify is excellent as the home base for a brand.
The mistake is assuming every paid acquisition journey has to live inside the default Shopify storefront path.
When paid traffic, offer testing, checkout control, post-purchase revenue, and subscriptions start colliding, the answer usually isn't "rip Shopify out."
It's staying married to Shopify while running the journeys that need more control on rails built for that job.

Best thing I did was actively surround myself with builders
I used to waste my time with people that talk but don't build
Talkers cling on to builders to suck their resources like leeches
They will put you in giant email threads, Zoom calls, endless DMs, to talk ideas and connect you with other people in the "ecosystem"
You quickly realize you're now the protagonist in some bullshit startup theater show where nothing is ever going to be built
Talkers have no skills to build, are too lazy to develop them, and thus hover around builders to catch some of their food remains like hyenas
After 10 years in startups the talkers I know are still where they were when they started out
While a large % of the builders are succesful, rich and have built things with impact to their little (or large) part of society
Surround yourself with builders, not talkers because talk is cheap and building is hard!
