Was just walking along the street this evening and as I approached this pub, I stopped in my tracks to photograph this gentleman as he leant nonchalantly against the wall, texting on his phone. Talk about handing me the shot on a plate. Thank you whoever you are.

One of my brothers just sent me this photo of me in a street (which may have been outside a pub). Taken on film, by the time he gets it developed, you’ve forgotten you were ever there. I’m at home now and listening to a band called The Smiths singing the Queen is Dead, live, way back in 1986, which coincidentally, was when I was at college studying photography. Anyway, the image and the music seemed to work perfectly together, as can so often happen.

A rising number of mysterious drone sightings near airports and military bases has fueled concern in Europe over alleged Russian incursions into NATO airspace, with some of America's allies already saying the continent is in a gray zone between peace and war — accusing Moscow of escalating "hybrid warfare."
In Sweden, CBS News' @HollyMAWilliams saw that alliance in action this week — in waters contested by Russia — and watched as an enemy submarine prepared for a covert espionage and sabotage mission in the Baltic Sea against America's NATO allies in northern Europe. It was just a military exercise, launched from Stockholm's harbor, and a German submarine played the role of the unnamed enemy being hunted by NATO forces across the Baltic Sea.

The Unknown Warrior was buried in Westminster Abbey #onthisday in 1920, representing the many thousands who had died on the battlegrounds of the First World War.
His funeral in the Abbey was attended by King George V; the Prime Minister, David Lloyd George; government, military and diplomatic representatives; and nearly a thousand widows and mothers of those killed in the war.
It was a moment of great national commemoration, with the Unknown Warrior representing all those lost on the battlefields who had no other memorial or known grave.
