🚨TODAY🚨 MIT facilities workers have had enough. Today, we’re taking a strike vote. Unless MIT comes to the table, ready to meaningfully meet our demands, workers are preparing to strike and show admin who really keeps MIT running!

Security workers here have been working without a contract since July 31 as they fight to convince security contractors who employee them, like Northeast Security, that they deserve employer-funded, quality healthcare. We won't stop until our members get the care they deserve.

Standing up right now for @MassGovernor Maura Healey in front of @wbz with @afscme93, @IBEW103, @IAM_Union and the App Drivers Union before tonight’s gubernatorial debate!

Any policy that threatens working people’s ability to do their jobs and provide for their families is a policy we cannot stay silent on. SEIU, @SEIU509, @32BJSEIU and partners are suing over policies that would force people to separate from their families to obtain a green card.

On the ground today in Dorchester to support @maura_healey and @KimDriscollMA for four more years in Massachusetts. Airport workers need a champion who will fight for them as they continue advocating for healthcare and a new contract. And we know Healey will fight for just that!

“Who’s got the power?” facilities workers @MIT got the power, joined by undergrads and the @MITGradUnion, as they marched to President Kornbluth’s office to deliver a petition signed by nearly 1,000 community supporters for a fair contract now!

“MIT needs to be a place that puts students, staff, and researchers first, and not the profit motive,” said @MITGradUnion representative Lauren Chau. If we all don’t get it, we’ll shut it down — together.

One page of the signatures on the petition delivered this afternoon demanding a fair wage increase, decreased healthcare premiums and protections for immigrant workers

Thank you, Rep. @MarjorieDecker for standing today with Greater Boston security officers rallying for good healthcare in their contract outside @Northeastern, where Northeast Security Inc. subsidizes their profits by forcing those who protect the university to take public plans.

Facilities workers @TuftsUniversity started practice pickets yesterday to prep for a possible STRIKE, which the crew of grounds, maintenance & trades workers voted unanimously to support if Tufts doesn’t move on fair wages & affordable insurance now. Pickets resume at noon!
