On a personal note: My wife and I have spent many days and weeks at @LurieChildrens with our son James and it’s an emotional experience — not only because of what my son has gone through, but because you realize how many children are going through considerably worse situations. The week we spent in the cardiac ICU in 2016 was especially eye opening.
It’s heartbreaking, but the bravery that children have is incredibly inspiring too.
Meanwhile, the bills pile up. We literally got another one yesterday. We’ve been fortunate to be able to pay them, but many families experience extreme financial hardship, so pledges like the one the Warrens made today make a HUGE difference.
Also, shoutout to all the nurses, doctors and volunteers that work at children’s hospitals everywhere. They are heroes and among the best people on this planet. 💙

.@mcuban Do you foresee @costplusdrugs ever carrying medically necessary formula? We’ve had some families in our community (@22qFamily) where insurance will not cover very expensive formulas their children require to survive. It’s been extremely frustrating.
