We’re delighted to announce that our portfolio company @FutureBiogas has acquired the remaining 49% stake in a portfolio of six gas-to-grid anaerobic digestion facilities from Foresight Environmental Infrastructure Limited (FGEN) for £104 million. Future Biogas acquired its initial 51% stake in the portfolio in August 2024. Full ownership will enable Future Biogas to drive further earnings growth, accelerating a number of identified investment opportunities across the portfolio, including capacity expansions and operational enhancements. We’re delighted to announce we have completed our c.€263 million investment in @LefdalMineDC (LMD), a highly-efficient Norwegian data centre campus with significant growth potential. LMD is a large-scale, underground data centre campus located on the west coast of Norway. It benefits from access to low-cost hydroelectric power and a unique fjord-based cooling system, delivering industry-leading energy efficiency. Following completion, 3i manages 90% of the equity in LMD with 3i Infrastructure holding just over 45%, and third-party co-investors managed by 3i holding c.45%. We are delighted to announce that Andrew Sykes has been appointed Chair Designate of 3i Infrastructure plc to succeed Richard Laing. Andrew will join the Board on 23 July 2026 as an independent non-executive Director and Chair Designate, and will take over as Chair on 1 January 2027 following a handover period. Andrew has a wealth of investment trust, infrastructure, financial services and non-executive experience. He spent 26 years of his executive career at Schroders and has held Board positions at ICG, BBGI Global Infrastructure, Smith & Williamson and SVG Capital plc. We’re delighted to announce we have agreed to invest c.€300m to acquire a majority stake in Lefdal Mine Datacenter (“LMD”), a high-quality Norwegian data centre campus. LMD is an operating data centre campus based on the west coast of Norway, with 37 MW of operational capacity across its customer base, and a further 43 MW of contracted capacity currently under construction. The company benefits from long-term, availability-based inflation-linked contracts, as well as Norway’s low-cost and robust power supply. The company leverages its underground location and closed-loop seawater cooling technology to deliver superior efficiency. LMD has substantial future growth potential, with only one of its six mine levels currently utilised for data centre capacity.
