At some point you have to start planning for the worst because life rarely warns you twice.

A child who keeps getting into trouble might be communicating a need your school has not learned to recognise.
But what happens in many schools?
The child gets labelled.
The behaviour gets punished.
The incident gets recorded.
And the underlying need goes unexamined.
This is one of the hidden inclusion gaps in school operations.
An inclusive school does not stop at asking, “How do we correct this behaviour?”
It also asks, “What is this behaviour telling us about the support this child needs?”
School leaders, what happens after a child repeatedly displays challenging behaviour in your school?
