Israel murdered the director of the Egyptian Committee in Gaza while Egypt were playing their biggest World Cup game in generations, days after Egypt’s head coach spoke up for Palestine.
This timing is not something anyone should be brushing off as coincidence.
🚨 BREAKING: Israel has killed Mohamed Fawaz al-Wahidi, director of public relations for the Egyptian Committee in Gaza, Tuesday evening in a strike on a civilian vehicle near the governorate building in Gaza City’s al-Sabra neighborhood, per the Palestinian Information Center.
Two other Palestinians, including a child, were killed alongside him and others wounded, per Arabi Post, bringing the day’s death toll from Israeli attacks across Gaza to six, amid ongoing violations of the ceasefire.
The Egyptian Committee, established by President Sisi, is Cairo’s official relief arm in Gaza, distributing food, housing displaced families in camps it built at Netzarim, and clearing rubble.
Israel has killed its personnel before: in January, an Israeli drone struck a vehicle carrying committee workers filming a new displacement camp near Netzarim, killing five people including three journalists working for the committee. Israeli media reported Cairo sent an angry protest demanding explanations for that attack.
The targeted strike and killing of an official of Egypt’s own relief operation comes as Cairo hosts negotiations on the ceasefire’s second phase, with a Hamas delegation in its sixth day of talks there. Reports suggest the strike took place just before the Egypt-Argentina soccer World Cup match.

Look at how the BBC frames it. "If the people want me to have a third term, I will accept." Like it's a humble offer. Like the people are begging him.
But here is what the headline leaves out.
Tshisekedi is already serving his second term. The DRC constitution limits the president to two terms. What he is suggesting is an illegal power grab dressed up as democracy.
And why does the BBC soften this? Because Tshisekedi is their man. He plays nice with Western mining companies. He keeps cobalt flowing to your electric cars. He does not expel your diplomats.
When a leader in Mali or Burkina Faso talks about extending terms, the BBC calls it a coup or a regression. When a Western-backed leader does it, the headline is gentle. "He may consider."
Same continent. Same violation of term limits. Different framing.
That is not journalism. That is propaganda with a British accent.
"If the people want me to have a third term, I will accept."
Democratic Republic of Congo's President Félix Tshisekedi has said he may consider seeking a third term in office when his mandate expires in 2028. bbc.in/42n0hml

“my daughter smelled chicken…spent the entire day crying and asking for it, saying she craves it... My heart broke. I wished I had never had her…had never gotten married or had children in the first place…I blame myself…”
Each passing day fills Maha with more and more despair. Pls read through the screenshots if you can.
Pls help me to help her because I can not do this alone. I need your help and support. I need your donations and your shares and your prayers for Maha and her family.
If this tweet pops up on your timeline, and you are able to, could you donate a minimum of $20? (And a maximum of however much you can afford?)
Right now trying to get ahold of another $1400 or so by Friday. It’s seeming impossible but can we somehow make it happen?
(With God’s help of course)
Ya Razzaq - Oh, Provider 🤲🏽
Provide for Maha, her husband, and little ones Habiba and Ward, through your wonderful servants, through donations they make on her campaign.

Even this $900 ended up being $765 because of commission.
And debt collectors came and caused chaos. (3rd and 4th screenshots)
Maha is living through hell. Please read through all 4 screenshots if you can.
Can we please somehow get around $1400 more for them by the 24th???
Can one kind and generous soul reading this make a big donation somehow? $500? $700?

"Still, Minab" is the single most heart-wrenching and yet life-affirming work I have ever done in my life. In this fieldwork ethnography of the Minab massacre, I conducted in-depth interviews with 35 people, including 8 families, volunteer workers in town, and local eyewitnesses.
The existing accounts of Minab in both English and Farsi language media, while valuable, remain incomplete.
This mini‑series was born from a responsibility to affirm the victims’ own voices: their lives, testimonies, and interpretations as undeniable sources of knowledge about this atrocity. It is also a commitment to them.
This commitment also makes this work freely available and accessible to all. You are welcome (and encouraged) to share and use it widely.
Here is the first episode of the ethnography of Minab—the massacre and its aftermath.
Parastesh Zaeri, 11, survived the US-Zionist attack on her school. But she does not know that her brother, Ali Asghar, 9, who came upstairs after the first explosion to look for her, did not survive.
This is Parastesh's account of what happened that day. The life of Ali Asghar. What was taken from us. And our promise and dedication to carry him forward.
"Still, Minab" honors the people of the south, holding its pain and dignity together, as a testament to the best of humanity.

These are things that almost certainly were said behind closed doors in every previous US administration. Trump is just so deranged he says the quiet part out loud. No amount of post-Trump image rehab or international reconciliation should make you forget this.

This is fucking insane. The only silver lining, to the extent that you can say that when someone is explicitly threatening war crimes, is that the world is nakedly seeing the US for the satanically evil militarized force it always has been.

But our 2-hour detention revealed a lot about the motives of these Israeli soldiers: acting in service of the settler movement.
