The @jrf_uk have an important report out today on the rise in destitution in the UK. This isn't relative poverty but people and families without adequate shelter, food or heat. You can see the numbers who are destitute, particularly children, has shot up.

Sexual violence in schools is a widespread problem that affects millions of children. It's time to take action. The global education sector needs to do more to create safe and supportive learning environments for all children

It is not indolence that leads to such high levels of poverty but deliberate policy decisions.
Pensioner poverty has halved in the last 20 years - which is great - but child poverty hasn't gone down at all.
These are choices.

This Fulham are an audacious collective. After 2 humiliating Premier League campaigns, they are coherent and resilient. Thrills me no end that 2 Americans are at the heart of that backline which fears no one. 4 Points from Chelsea this season. Dreamland 💪

Same same in int'l dev education. Millions spent on trends, exporting high resource (usually western) teaching solutions into contrasting contexts without due consideration of what's working vs what's not. Problems are defined from afar rather than understood up close.

Hard to put into words how it felt to visit @SPARKSchools last week. Care and ambition everywhere: on the walls, in the instruction & the behaviour management. I was so touched; I wish I learned to teach here. Thank you 🥰: outstanding work @stace_d_brewer & team.
Always inspired by @EeRehLoves and @justice_rising and grateful for the opportunities @GSF_talks provides to share lessons learned and what works to ensure more children learning.
The wonderful @EeRehLoves presenting @justice_rising’s Chalkboard Guides. She talks us through the process of developing and testing the solution and the lessons learned along the way. Her advise - be ambitious with your innovation!

Mabinty, like so many kids have put in hours to work hard. EducAid, like so many schools have supported learners nationwide. This is what we mean by #RadicalInclusion- where your gender or socio-economic background doesn't determine access to quality education. Congrats!!
Mabinty Mambu co-recorded 300+ radio lessons for @LeoneTeaching national broadcast & now look!!! Hard work pays off! She’s done a fantastic job in her WASSCE (part of top ten school #EducAidRolal) #EducAidAlwaysClimbing #EducAidIsTheAnswer #EducationIsTheAnswer @dsengeh

Every nation is as good as the quality of humans it produces.
When children in a country learn more, the country develops better and quicker. To #TransformEducation, impeccable quality of early learning is non-negotiable. It must be prioritized.
Learning changes everything.
