Four weeks after giving birth, Adela Nohemy Castellanos was torn from her newborn son and family. Today, she and her daughter Sofia are still locked away at the Dilley Trailer Prison. I’m going to Dilley this week to see Adela and Sofia, and push for their release. Adela’s case has been re-opened, taking deportation off the table for now. But she is still detained, away from her newborn, partner, and children. A postpartum mother and her little girl don’t belong in a prison. They should be reunited with their family.

In Trump’s America, there are two immigration systems: one where his wealthy, well-connected allies are welcomed while hardworking immigrants with clean records are terrorized in the streets.
