Dale Hollow Lake holds secrets below its surface, like remnants of the "town that drowned." And locals believe a house overlooking that lake is cursed.
After the homeowner, Michael Harding, was found dead in 2022, chatter about the curse picked back up.
Peter Van Sant went out on Dale Hollow Lake for this week's episode, but not without the 48 Hours crew keeping everyone safe and capturing details to tell Michael's story. #48Hours

Husband and sister of Savannah Tolbert disagree on the status of her mental health in the weeks leading up to her death. When speaking to police, David Tolbert told them Savannah had depression and anxiety.
However, her sister told Anne-Marie Green, “What I observed from her was not depression. It was — she was scared.”
After her husband, Mike Harding, was found dead in an apparent murder, authorities wanted to search the home where Julie Harding was living. With a warrant in hand, armed deputies entered the Harding mansion and went room to room looking for clues. There was no one home, but the deputies found yellow Post-it notes that investigators say were handwritten by Julie when Mike was still alive.
They read: “0 $ Here,” “0 $ here either,” and “Whatcha lookin 4?” #48Hours
On November 15, 2022, police cameras captured the moments after they discovered 37-year-old Savannah Tolbert shot dead in the front seat of a red Tesla. Even though security camera footage gave investigators a timeline of what happened, they still needed to determine how Savannah, who had a gunshot wound in the back of her head on the left side, was found holding a gun in her right hand. #48Hours
After Mike Harding went missing from his lakeside town in Tennessee, near the Kentucky border, his wife, a captain with the California Highway Patrol, began placing urgent and often “angry” phone calls to police.
Then, when authorities approached her, she apologized for her behavior on the phone. #48Hours
Mike Harding's children, Steven and Heather, say that two weeks after their father's body was found, his wife, Julie, took Mike's beloved dog, Charlie, from the home of a friend who had been watching him.
Julie’s stepson Steven says Julie knew he wanted the dog, but he has never seen Charlie again. A Ring doorbell camera captured the incident.
The homeowner wanted to press charges against Julie, but at that point, detectives were focused on other potential charges against Julie. #48Hours
