Stand up for who/what you believe in even when it's not popular.
It's ok to be right early.
Hasan helped democrats win primaries by leading his community to fundraise, knock doors, and work the phones. He then had to bite his tongue when a candidate he helped win a primary had to bow to the negative framing by mainstream media and Republicans.
He became the boogeyman.
He was the lead on every Fox News show. His name was on the tongue of the president of the United States and the prime minister of Israel.
He stood firm and continued to push his agenda all while his life was being threatened.
He has earned this victory lap.
Congratulations @hasanthehun
Hasan is in Minnesota right now literally freezing while marching with the people.
I know a lot of you are disappointed in me, but,
you have to look at the big picture.
I'm hoping that as long as folk aren't trying to physically hurt you or yours, you can set aside your differences for now, and unify in this fight.
Look, you may not like everyone on the team, but you got to know it's going to take all of us.
Unity in the Community.

Don't let Haley Stevens get it twisted: progressives and moderates have actually been working together since the primary.
Mamdani had Hochul's back. McMorrow and Slotkin went to the mat for El Sayed. Francesca Hong loudly supported David Crowley. Dems were actually in array.

It's so clear right now that @hasanthehun deserves enormous credit for seeing the threat that Haley Stevens posed and vocally speaking out about it before it was cool. Many in our party supported Abdul, but few others worked as hard to raise the alarm about Stevens.
"I can say unfounded things without proof and when asked said proof it's actually those people who are dumb, haven't they seen these selectively edited clips that are in no way representative of the point being made?"
Leftists have been playing a particularly stupid game in my comments over this Hasan Piker situation, demanding "proof" of Piker's homicidal prescriptions, as if it's my responsibility to curate news for them rather than theirs to take well-documented facts for granted.
It's a common tactic on social media, posturing as if a fact can be ignored (and therefore not discussed) by pretending not to know it.
One of these sophomoric pseudointellectuals (@bennetthaselton), so proud of his imagined rhetorical prowess, put it this way. He posted, "Did you have a specific quote, meaning open quote followed by the exact words that Piker wrote or said followed by close quote, where Piker "advocated for the murder of conservatives"? (A response not containing an exact quote, means "No".)"
The game there is to ignore the legitimacy of paraphrase and deny the broader implications of Piker's statements. Unless I can find Piker verbatim saying "I want conservatives to be murdered," in Haselton's mind, he wins the argument.
This is, of course, embarrassingly retarded. It's also lazy and immoral.
Piker told his audience to kill landlords. "Kill them. Kill those motherfuckers and murder those motherfuckers in the street. Let the streets soak in their fucking red capitalist blood." He said America deserved 9/11. He said that people should kill Rick Scott.
He once said, “Left-wingers, liberals, you need to be fucking showing your opponents’ guts on there, you need to be gutting them. You need to be shanking these motherfuckers and letting their fucking intestines writhe on-stage. Slice them up. Slice ‘em and fucking dice ’em.”
These were not one-off statements. This is reflective of his body of work. This is what he has consistently expressed. It's been widely reported in the mainstream. Someone put together a compilation of 65 incidents which you can watch below.
Sixty-five.
So, when someone says "Piker advocates for the murder of conservatives," that is an accurate summation of the record. It's a paraphrase that is no less true because it wasn't contained between an open-quote and a close-quote. Even someone as silly as @NortonMpls or @bennetthaselton should be able to acknowledge that. And they are able. They choose not to as a clumsy rhetorical deflection, attempting to place the onus on the victims of Piker's intimidation to "prove" what was never in doubt. Then they can evade the moral responsibility to address what Piker has said and the implications of so many high-profile Democrats proudly associating with him.
I can't begin to tell you how much I despise this quality in my opponents. It's like a bully's dumber less intimidating buddy who stands behind him making oafish low-brow heckles, thinking that somehow makes *him* tough.

crisis of literacy moment: overwhelming majority of clips on this website show something entirely different than the description & ppl can’t even get themselves to watch the often out of context clip & just rt and start theorizing over the false claims in the description

PSA: The more they attack @hasanthehun, the more we’ll defend him. It’s our belief that is the only way to deal with this sort of dangerous, bad faith fascist bullying (coming from both Republicans and corporate Dems).
Has he said some edgy shit? Yes. But he is not the monster they want you to believe he is. They fear him not because he’s a force for bad, but because he’s a force for good — a master communicator who reaches the EXACT voters Dems need to activate to stop the march of authoritarianism, and a class warrior who centers the working class and the humanity of everyone… including both Palestinians and Jews.

I agree that Platner should drop out. The allegations are horrible and I see no reason why his accuser would lie. Some things have to be beyond the pale.

amidst calls from all of us to drop out, there's a real populist rage brewing in maine. if the dem establishment think that they can risk the senate majority by not replacing platner with an acceptable substitute - we will be risking a loss to susan collins. troy jackson is him!
There is no place in our politics for sexual violence. Not in our party, not in any party. Graham Platner must withdraw from this race today.
This is not what we stand for. Not as Democrats, not as Mainers, not as human beings. For too long, women who survive sexual violence have been told to stay quiet, to protect the men who hurt them, to think about the campaign, the party, the cause. We cannot ask women to trust us with their futures while looking the other way when one of our own hurts them. That ends here.
I believe Jenny Racicot.
nest and ring are creating a surveillance state 10 times the size the government could ever hope to alone, and we're paying to build it ourselves
what do you mean google recovered footage from the unsaved live nest feed the owner didn't even pay a subscription for?
If @Nintendo isn't planning a Zelda 2 remake or remaster using @lizardcube and @BenFiquet then what are we really doing here
