Armies that win have the general at the front lines. Nobody wants to bleed for the prince in the palace.
Ron Baron asked Elon Musk how many CEOs live on site in an Airstream and work hands-on with everyone. MUSK: “Airstreams are actually pretty nice... It’s parked right next to the power plant.” “We built this power plant that’s producing over a gigawatt... in about a year, as opposed to normally about five years.” “There is no upstairs.” He walks the entire site up to five times a day. He’s pulled power cables “the size of an anaconda,” run fiber, wired switches, and worked on the power plant software. “I try to do at least a little bit of everything, so that I’m not numb to the pain of the people who are actually doing it.” “It’s not as though I’m sitting in an office and somebody has to come to me. I’m walking the floor, asking them questions actively.” There’s a reason SpaceX is winning the compute race.

did big models just get friend zoned with Platonic Representation Hypothesis?
Yann LeCun and Randall Balestriero just Proved the Platonic Representation Hypothesis, and found a better way to achieve it. The Platonic Representation Hypothesis suggests that AI models trained on different modalities, like images and text, eventually learn similar representations of the world. But this paper shows that how models are trained matters more than simply scaling them up. So they mathematically show that, under certain conditions, two JEPAs trained completely separately can learn essentially the same underlying representation of the world. One learns from different images of the same scene, while the other learns from different descriptions of that scene, without ever being trained on image-text pairs. Their approach achieves the same image-text alignment with 42x fewer training samples than next-token prediction. A 109M-parameter text JEPA even outperforms LLMs up to 72B parameters on cross-modal alignment benchmarks. alphaxiv.org/abs/2610.39302

So many indy developers are putting out amazing apps these days. It’s a new era.
The new 5-inch Macbook Pro has touchscreen and 5G.

I’m not running my models on computers, I’m running my computers in my models
1/4 Meet Qwenputer: Qwen3.5-4B with a full RISC-V CPU inside its weights, using the model's own Gated DeltaNet layers as RAM. It runs C and MicroPython in its forward passes, no external runtime. On DeepMind math: base 55–90%, base + Python tool 95–100%, Qwenputer 97.5–100%.

This guy's really cooking
Had to run Mbappes El Clasico winner from this week through the spatial pipe. Not too bad for one broadcast shot and all local models. ⚽️💯🤯Shot on @Apple Vision Pro. #vr #barca #soccer #ar @realmadrid @Barca

The market should pick winners through competitive forces and customers voting with their wallets.
Canada continues to get industrial policy wrong. Picking winners creates artificial barriers to competition and misallocates capital. A better approach would be a broad-based subsidy accessible to every firm in the space.

Had some fun building a new game for the @modretro Chromatic this weekend with the Codex plugin. You have 120s to build a bank around the vault, and then the robbers come in and it's time to defend and distract! What's the best distribution channel for these games?

I fought in the Java EJB wars of the early 2000s
I’ve survived Perl, SOAP, XML, the microservices hype cycle, and four distinct eras of JavaScript frameworks. You cannot intimidate me with a new build tool.

Whomever thought of the Modretro deserves a raise. Incredibly cool. The console comes with a blank cartridge and you will literally build the game with Codex and load it onto the device. 😏

ModRetro and @OpenAI are collaborating on game creation for the Chromatic. This partnership brings together ModRetro’s handheld hardware and Codex, OpenAI’s coding agent.

I think I might have AI psychosis - I think anything is possible and am full of optimism. I also keep shipping things, should I seek professional help?

Vector mathematics have gone too far. Gradient descent is on the rise! We need to control this.
