They can only do that with access to appropriate resources. When you talk about Back 2 Basics, is that back to when we had enough beds, enough staff, district nurses, and Social Care. Define Back and Basics, please. @alisonleary1 @AFTaylorDN @CrystalOldman @sturdy_deborah

The experiences of nurses and patients are harrowing to read in the report published by @theRCN today and to be clear, this is not the position any of us working in the NHS think is acceptable.

16 days ago, my elderly father died. He had been seen by a doctor 48 hours prior to his death and had a known cancer so his death was expected. 16 days and I am still waiting for his death certificate. I feel paralysed and furious. Surely this is not acceptable?

Our profession is ready to help move care closer to people's homes, but there needs to be a reality check. The number of community nurses is on track to be half what it was two decades ago. We need new investment in nursing, now. 🔽 bit.ly/48j0kBF

We must boldly highlight the challenges we face as the silent doers in this safety-critical profession. Our dedication often goes unseen. Nurses love their job, yet the conditions are holding us back. It’s time to demand better working environments! #RCNreps2024 #HealthCareReform

There are laws for how many dogs you can walk and how many air stewards are needed on a flight, yet there’s nothing regulating safe staffing levels in nursing—a complex, safety-critical profession. RT if you think minimum staffing should be law! @10DowningStreet #RCNreps2024

Last year there were only 3,749 community nurses across the whole of the NHS... there are 5,000 lollipop ladies and gentlemen. All doing a great job, of course, but just-sayin… myemail.constantcontact.com/…
