My good bud Tony Rettman is going in for serious cancer surgery this coming week. You know Tony : No Idols, his books on Straight Edge and NYHC etc. His friends made a long sleeve shirt with a rad Negative Approach photo to support Tony right now. noidolslongsleeves.blogspot.…
Love this dude. In about 2011 or so Elisa came back from a Markers tour in the US and said, “we played a show with this guy Joseph that you just have to hear.”
Feeling like an emotional follow-up to Branches and Leaves, New Jerusalem again deals with faith, mental illness, divine light, and self-exploration, thickening the sound this time, with Joseph building tracks out to towering ensembles. @curvedpath bit.ly/3LRwSsC
One of the cool things we get to do with Head Voice is write articles that should have been written a long time ago, like interviewing Naomi Yang about her bass tone and playing in Galaxie 500 and beyond

It’s true we made a thing. I also just posted more info on my IG account instagram.com/p/Cx8NyflrM3v/
Big announcement: Ben Chasny, Donovan Quinn and I have been working in secret for nearly two years on a print zine called HEAD VOICE. The first issue (pictured here) will finally be available this @bandcamp Friday. More details soon. Watch this space! @dragcityrecords @6organs
ICYMI - James Blackshaw is returning to playing live after an 8 year hiatus, opening for Grails on select European dates. Really great news. Good work Grails on getting that guy out there.
Good lord how beautiful is this Jessika Kenney & Eyvind Kang first song for their new record? To have faith that humans nowadays would listen a 7 minute monophonic piece that needs that entire time to complete itself? Always in awe of these two. ideologicorgan.bandcamp.com/…
These demos sound great. I’m also curious about this project he’s got cooking.
Was gonna wait to post this new batch of demos till @Bandcamp Friday, but some buds and I are announcing something bigger that day, so I’m putting these up today instead. Enjoy (and stay tuned)!

Was surprised when @noisextraaa asked me to be on their show but was really stoked since it’s one of my fav music podcasts. Ep up now. noisextra.com/2023/09/20/in-…
Isn’t it rad when two friends meet when you aren’t there and you find out they really got along?

One of my fav projects I’ve worked on. Made myself laugh when a few days before it was released I emailed him and asked him when his birthday again.
To commemorate my birthday tomorrow, I thought it would be cool to re-post this incredible birthday gift I received last year, this time via FREE @Bandcamp download (w/ no option to pay). Enjoy! @aquadrunkard @thescrvnr @6organs @3lobed

Just recorded with one of my favorite music podcasts l. so stoked. Out in a couple weeks. I first played a show with one of the hosts about 21 years ago. Crazy!
I have some Hexadic work in the new issue of Matt Marble’s American Museum of Paramusicology e-zine. Matt used to do the Secret Sound podcast and wrote that latest book on Arthur Russell and I love his vision. mattmarble.net/amp

rec of the day SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE "sleep tones" (VDSQ 2LP) i am not always a fan of ambient music, but chasny's take is luxurious and dreamy. a perfect accompaniment for many an activity. or even meditation. go get 'em, tiger.

Ethan made a cool promo video for Winter Band using recordings from yesterday’s rehearsal if anyone was curious what we sound like. Maybe a little Paramachanical World / Un / Maher shb style. Or something.

Looking forward to seeing Rick Bishop play on Sunday. A lot of people don’t know this but I used to give him guitar lessons in the 80s.
